Had my usual, the Begnauds Special, topped off with bread pudding. No othe barque place in the area hold a candle to Johnsons. And the ambiance and friendliness of the waitstaff is worth the visit..

Johnson's Boucanier is seriously good Five star BBQ and Cajun food. Takeout or eat on deck. My personal favorite is the Begnaud Special sandwich made with their home made smoked pork sausage and their smoked pulled brisket and their homemade BBQ sauce. Also their gumbo and boudin is as good as any I've ever had. Lots of other goodies too:... More

Stopped in at Johnson's while on Cajun Food Tour and met Lori Walls, the proprietor and her father Wallace Johnson, a wonderful man who took us out back and showed us the workings of the smokehouse, etc. When back inside, Lori gave us all a bowl of their smothered potatoes and sausage. What a treat! Great flavor and the sausage... More

Ordered a couple of links of boudin and a cup of gumbo and was very pleased. The boudin was steamed old-school style and was on the spicy side, but very good. The chicken and sausage gumbo was outstanding. Johnson's Andouille sausage is world class. On my first visit I wasn't sure how to order -- the interior is cramped and... More

Love the BBQ chicken and Boudin. My wife loves the bread pudding. They also have great pulled pork and brisket sandwiches. Like to go on Saturday when they play zydeco music.

My husband had been raving about the food for months (especially the sausage sauce piquant lunch), so my first visit was a lunch date with him. It won't be my last. I devoured the brisket sandwich with BBQ sauce. The piled high brisket was tender and just the right amount of chewiness to satisfy the inner carnivore. Quick service and... More

Wonderful local BBQ lunch spot, also offers other local favorites like red beans and rice and gumbo seasonally. Enjoy lunch on the porch when the weather is nice.

Went there for lunch on a Saturday. Had the ribs and boudin. Both were really good. No tables inside set at picnic tables on the porch. There is no a lot of tables. It is worth the effort. .

While I was there I took the Cajun Food Tour with Marie Ducote. One of the 6 stops was Johnsons Boucaniere. I had no idea... More
