No matter where we go Texas Roadhouse has a great meal. Lake Charles Texas Roadhouse is no exception. They were packed for dinner but we got in right away. The server was friendly and efficient. Both of us had the 6 oz Sirloin, house salad, and the sweet potato.The steaks were cooked to perfection. They are so flavorful no steak sauce is needed. The house salads were cold and crisp as they should be. The rolls melt in your mouth. The sweet potatoes with brown sugar and cinnamon are very good. The meals came out hot and in a timely manner. The atmosphere at Texas Roadhouse is fun and enjoyable. We always enjoy it. This Roadhouse is very much worth the visit. I highly recommend it.

Years ago we ate here and the Chicken fried steak tasted like hotdogs. So we never visited again. Well after about 15 years from our last visit, I have to say the place has changed. The atmosphere was great and the staff were really busy. We had a 35 minute wait to be seated on a Wednesday evening. The food we ordered tasted good. We got ribs, chicken fried sirloin, chicken tenders with fries and backed potato and house salad.

Early bird meal

We had the early bird meal on a Thursday. The chicken fried steak was $13.99 with 2 sides. It was fresh with white gravy and tasted great. We had two appetizers fried pickles & the fried onion. Both were perfectly fried & came with sauce .Yummy! The service is great here. And the rolls were served hot & fresh with whipped cinnamon butter.

I have been to several Roadhouses during my travels, and this has to have the poorest quality of food. Ordered the Prime Rib, when served, attempted to cut into it, it seems that I needed a chain saw to actually obtain a piece. After the first bite, I decided it was time to go out to the parking lot and check the cars to see if anywhere one was missing a tire. Attempted to make my server aware of the poor quality and that appeared to enter one ear, rattle around in her head, and go out the other. Normally, one of the managers would stop by the table to check on the customer, but not to be found.

A group of different parties were outside in our cars waiting for the doors to open patiently, at 4pm the manager Rudy unlocked the doors and everyone got out of their cars to come in. Once we got inside we went to the podium to ask for a table, Rudy said “hey guys we aren’t quite open yet”, repeated it and rolled his eyes at us. We were kind of confused why you’d unlock the door to the restaurant if you weren’t ready to seat people yet? Our server Ennocene was wonderful per usual and accommodated everything that we need.

Host was a bit unprofessional

We were on the wait for a party of 4 but showed up with 3 since our 4th was late taking care of her newborn. We asked if there was any way we could sit and she come meet us. We knew what the policy was but wanted to ask since we were already at the restaurant waiting. The hosts/hostesses informed us that the whole party had to be there in order for us to sit which was no issue at all until the host Brody (tall, skinny, flamboyant) made a comment “there’s a sign right here” and aggressively pointed to the front of their podium. Regardless of if he thinks the question was stupid, that’s an inappropriate way to talk to someone especially being in the service industry. He continued to make snarky comments thinking we couldn’t hear him while sitting 3 feet away on the benches. Our server was good & other than that first initial incident the experience was nice. There was even a manager/supervisor touching tables to make sure everyone in the area was being taken care of.

Not all Texas Roadhouse's are the same. I have never been disappointed with the cuts of meat. THe sides were also generous and the service much better than expected.

worse night ever

I use to be a big fan of this place but last night changed my opinion. It ruined our birthday party for my son who turned 50. Your policy that says eveyone has to be there in order to be seated is stupid. Several of our party still had their law enforcement uniforms on, coming straight from work. . I myself am a viet nam era Navy vet. A few of our party got there early so we could put our gifts at the table to surprise him and have a drink or two but was not allowed. I at 70 had to stand there for nearly a hour with packages in my arms and in pain. We had a party of 10 which was also not allowed. Since we all traveled from out of town, how were we suppose to know these stupid rules. I could see 2 tables next to each other that could have just pushed together. One table had 6 chairs and the other had 4 which equals 10. The black dude checking in customers was rude and made no attempt to satisfy us. He actually told me to leave if I didnt like the rules.. Instead we had to wait till all 10 arrived and lots of customers were seated before us . Six of us were seated at the same table I asked for but my son was put in a booth with his kids which totally sucked and defeated the point of a party. He could have ate with his kids at home. He didnt get to visit with his mother, sisters and other family. Im 70 and never had such poor service. I probably wont live to see his next milestone birthday. Even the food was not good. A country fried steak is not two chicken strips covered in gravy. I didnt eat but half a strip because it tasted funny. A friend told me the same thing was done to her. You need to re evaluate your rules. Happy customers return, unhappy ones do not. What happened to making the customer happy or accommodating your customers. This happened last night at 4.30ish thursday July 28. What is more important...your rules or your customers? Three years ago I posted a great review. Never again. Im embarrassed about how we were treated with no respect last night. I started to leave and go home. You had 6 employees standing around behind the check in desk gossipping the entire time we were there.. So I dont believe you were too busy to try to fix a place for the entire party to sit. Is it better to leave those two tables empty just to enforce rules.?

Great servers and great food!

Good food is very important to me and my family. This place offers both. The waitstaff is always willing to chat (only for a moment or two). They enjoy the job there and there seems to be a family-like relationship amoung them. AND - the tip calculation uses the amount of the meal and drinks, taxes not included; which is the correct way. Dine there frequently!

Costly Mishap

I have always told readers of my reviews, "It's about the entire dining experience" and that I always try and take up any concerns that would lead to a negative review with management before posting. This review is not the case. Our family had not been to our local Texas Roadhouse in some time. We decided to take our son-in-law for his birthday dinner. Mary, who was a manager in training stopped by our table to greet us. Taylor was our server. With that being said: Taylor brought our drinks and dumped an entire strawberry lemonade in my lap. She was very apologetic. She did bring towels to dry off and clean up the best I could. However, I sat the entire meal with lemonade and ice running down my pants into my suede boots. My I-phone was covered in it. I am not sure how Texas Roadhouse trains their staff to treat such an issue, but what should have happened was that Taylor should have went to management and let them know what happen. Management should have then come to the table and offered something. But that didn't happen. So if anything like this should happen to other guest, I recommend that you speak with management yourself before leaving. Clothes will wash and I will see how boots and I-phone dries out. Might turn out to be a more expensive meal than what I bargain for. The food was excellent. All four steaks that were ordered were cooked to perfection. But our server should have been more attentive following the mishap. We had to ask everytime we needed drink refills and after we cleaned the table of the remaining drink and ice that was not sitting in my lap, we needed new cloth napkins which we had to ask for. Our entire dining experience was disappointing to say the least.

I had the ribeye and shrimp. Both tasted very good, sides were great too. Drinks were made properly and not “lite pours”. Will eat here again.

Disappointed

Server was very attentive at first and then it went major downhill from there. It took a really long time for our hamburger and a side of ribs to come out and it wasn’t that good. Halfway through our meal the fire alarms started going off. Management said oh it’s no big deal. Less than 10 minutes later the restaurant filled with smoke and management started screaming get out of the restaurant. People were pushing their ways out of there and hopefully there were no injuries. I’m glad that we didn’t have to pay for our food because it was pretty bad.

The steaks in here are excellent, the beer selection is also very good. Been here a few times, always very good. The only negative is that the servers drop the bill on your table before you finish your meal. This can be a little annoying. However food is great keep up the good work.

We had crawfish the night b4 so decided to leave casino hotel for local fare & came to one of our go to restaurants. We were not disappointed & had some of our favorites, sirloin steak & pork chop with baked potato & awesome green beans. Also had birthday coupon for appetizer (had the delicious fried dill pickles). Along with the cinnamon butter rolls & flavored tea all was very delicious. We did notice too the music volume has been lowered since our last visit making for a more pleasant experience.
