Absolutely phenomenal! Surpassed our expectations. Excellent wine selections to steaks & seafood. Will definitely be going back!

While they specialize in Mediterranean foods they do have a fusion type restaurant which allowed even my picky eaters to enjoy their meal. It’s ideal for large groups and our large group was well served.
The food was amazing. Everything had complex flavors and was cooked to perfection. Our server Emily was friendly and attentive. She gave recommendations and had wisdom of the dishes on the menu. We will definitely revisit if ever in the Lake Charles area again.
This restaurant totally knocks it out of the park. Friendly staff….great food….great drinks…. The reservation process couldn’t have been easier
My wife and I decided to grab a bite out by going to Mazen’s. They are located on College Street next to I-210 between Ryan and Ernest Street. We arrived and decided to eat in the bar, which we love to do. Gabe was our...bartender of the night and promptly served our cocktails. I inquired about their chicken and sausage gumbo - low and behold they had it which was a great night for it. My wife ordered the hummus with beef followed by a crab crepe. Wow, everything was awesome - the food was scrumptious, great atmosphere and great service - we could not have asked for more. Please give them a try - you will not be disappointed.More
Excellent atmosphere as soon as you walk in the door. Waitstaff was fabulous ! We started off with lamb chops, and quail in delicious reduction sauces for appetizers. For our entree, it was a very difficult decision. They had many different options of how to...prepare the fish special, which was red snapper tonight. We picked two different options, and then shared them. We will definitely be back for a future visit !More
We booked a dinner party for 30 people after a wedding. It took 2 hours to get food. The food was not impressive at all. The waitress got 3/4 of the tickets wrong. My drinks were on someone else’s ticket 2 tables over, others had...appetizers on their ticket from our table etc. Part of our table was receiving food and the other half of our table hadn’t even put their order in. Who does that? Menus were left on our tables, our table was never totally cleaned from dirty dishes. No kidding, we got their at 5pm and did not leave until 9:45pm Apparently their POS system went down and all guest had to be checked out via a cell phone. They continued to take guest even though things were clearly falling apart. After about 3.5 hours in we finally get a check. I ask as a courtesy could the gratuity be removed. The waitress snatches the check from me and tells me “this is every bit of money I’ve made tonight, but I guess I can ask”. After about 15 minutes she comes back to tell me my request has been denied. Meanwhile they are still fumbling through butt loads of tickets to figure out which ticket belongs to which customer. After about 45 more minutes they are down to the last few tickets which was mine and two others from our party. Mind you our bill was about 1k .The waitress gives me my receipt and tells me the owner says “have a good night and respectfully don’t ever return to their establishment “ We wait another 45 minutes to speak with the owner who verifies “yes I said it, but I didn’t say it like that”. “I’ll deal with the waitress”he says. I have never been so insulted and so upset. I’d like to know what part of the evening was our fault. We were very patient, more than accommodating to staff who was clearly confused and under trained. This was my sisters wedding dinner and even after not receiving food 2 hours in we still tried to make the best of a horrible situation. But to be asked not come back as if we did something wrong is totally unacceptable. I don’t play the race card but clearly the only thing we were guilty of is being people of color in an all white establishment. I felt publicly humiliated and discriminated against. It is now 24 hours later and my heart is still heavy. I’m an owner of two businesses in the same community and I would never treat a customer in such a manner. I will definitely take his advice and NEVER return.More
We've been a number of times. It's an hour drive, but the food is excellent, service great. Steaks will melt in your mouth. We usually get the fried asparagus appetizer. The chocolate souffle is awesome. Be sure and order it when your meal comes because...it take awhile to prepare. They usually have a piano player on site int he lobby. We've traveled all over the world, but this is one of my favorite restaurants.More
We stopped in for a business lunch on a Friday around noon and were seated immediately. Our waitress arrived immediately and greeted us with a smile and our waters. After a quick glance at the menu, I decided to feast upon the Chateau Sandwich, an...open-faced offering heaping with sliced filet mignon, cooked to medium rare, and topped with a gravy/sauce that makes you want lick the plate clean. For appetizers, we started with an order of grape leaves and cabbie, which are always delicious here. The food arrived fairly quickly for this restaurant, which is great for a leisurely lunch on a Friday, but even with the Grand Marnier soufflé we shared for dessert, we were in an out in a little under an hour and a half, which isn't bad for such a decadent lunch. Our server kept our drinks full, our table cleared, and we left happy.I only hope that I can make it through the rest of my work day without a nap.More
I saw some reviews that said they had horrible service. Ours wasn’t horrible, it was mostly indifferent. However, the food was so good that I didn’t care. We took our time and were the last table to leave the restaurant. It wasn’t our fault that...the service was slow. The food was outstanding. We had flash fried oysters and oysters bienville for appetizers and split a full rack of lamb for a main course. We had the Grand Mariner soufflé for dessert. I have had the opportunity to dine in some of the best restaurants in the US and I will say that this soufflé is the finest dessert I’ve ever had. We had 4 cocktails and 2 glasses of wine and our pre tax bill was $130.00. It’s been a few years since we had been to Mazen’s but we will make the drive to enjoy their wonderful food again soon.More
Even after giving them the benefit of the doubt that it’s Christmas Eve, this was poor service, mediocre food and a sub-par atmosphere. Made a reservation for 7 adults and 7 kids with a request for a high chair. Upon arrival there were no high...chairs available. We were instructed to grab our car seat instead. No kids menus provided, however, was informed that there were chicken nuggets and sliders available for kids. My 3 year old was served a full on 1/2 lb burger. Don’t get excited. It took an hour for entrees to arrive. We watched the neighboring large table (that arrived after us) work through all their courses and get tabbed out before we ever received our main course. My husband prefers his steak Pittsburgh rare. Not all restaurants have the ability to do that so he always asks. The server assured him that was possible. A medium steak was provided. Cool. I had the crab cake. I had several bites that were full of crab shell. When restaurants set high prices for a meal, there are expectations that accompany such as higher quality food and good service. Neither were a part of our evening. I like to think I give the hospitality industry a lot of breaks because I worked in it myself for many years. I am flabbergasted that no manager surfaced to assist our sever that clearly couldn’t handle our party. We waited 30 minutes for our server to return with our cards after he left with our bills. Kids were falling asleep at the table. Our family goes out for dinner every year on Christmas Eve. This is by far the worst experience we’ve ever had. Extremely disappointed.More

Thank you Madeline for such a heartfelt effort. She went above and beyond. Madeline made sure my wife and I received all our items quickly and was genuinely kind. We asked for her suggestions and were exceedingly pleased. Very grateful for such consideration and conversation...in a time where people are so given to their phones instead of quality human interaction. Madeline thank you so much for helping make this birthday the best ever.More
We were a group of 7 having dinner. In the past, some of us have had positive experiences at Mazens, but tonight was particularly bad! The service was so slow - we waited 40 minutes for drinks, when we asked the waitress about this, she...blamed the bartender for being slow. I admit the restaurant and bar were really busy, but the manager or owner need to have more than one bartender working a shift. When our waitress did eventually bring our drinks, she spilled half of them. Thankfully they were replaced quickly. Our ticket was them brought to us without us asking for it and we were not done with our orders. It felt like we were being pushed out of the restaurant. I understand that places get busy, however management needs to have the restaurant well-staffed during the busy period. Is service bad for bigger tables because of the compulsory 18% gratuity added to the bill?More
we are sorry that you had a bad service at our establishment and we are looking forward in seeing you back so we can make up for it. We had a very busy night and we were fully staffed with more than one bartender, I...More
We were on our way from New Orleans to Houston, and Lake Charles was a good place to stop and have a nice lunch. We tried the Mazens. The kabob is amazing. My potatoes, however, were to spicy. Other sides, like the tabule and kibey...are very good too. Don't miss the suflé! It is surely the best desert of the restaurant.More
Went here with family. This is not the place to go if you are in a hurry, but great for a leisurely meal. The service was God but slow - it was very busy. The decor is really nice and they have proper table cloths...and napkins. It was surprisingly busy alunch time, but was not too noisy as it is not one of these places that play loud music. Great crab cakes and also a good tuna dish.More
