Maybe I was expecting a bit more from such a highly rated pub but to be honest it was an average sunday lunch. From the outside the pub looks nothing special while inside it's really just a dining pub with no real area for bar...More

We stopped off at the Fir and Feathers for Sunday lunch as friends had recommended. Food was lovely. All local produce, roast beef was very tender, and chocolate brownie dessert to die for. Very reasonable prices. Service was good too. I would recommend.

Award winning independent family owned free house.
Daily changing menu cooked with local ingredients when available. We are able to source world award winning cheese, lamb, eggs and game when in season from our village.
We have four real ale pumps and sell at least two local ales. We have a large wine list, many served by the glass and an extensive Gin & Whisky offering.
The building is Victorian with huge windows and high ceilings and heated by two log burners throughout winter, for the summer we have a large garden with patio area seating with our resident chickens for entertainment.
