Delicious seafood platter. Highly recommend. It gets a little busy. Might have to wait for a table but completely worth it. Best fried seafood ever!

Always reliable but generally a long wait. I like that you can get boiled seafood there, too.I like the one in Bucktown better than the one in the Quarter, but others like the Quarter because it is in a tourist section and it is easy to take out of towners there.

We opted for this old classic here in Metairie instead of one of the fancy places on Lake Ponchatrain and we're not disappointed. The fried oysters and catfish were delicious and tender. The shrimp appetizer was unique and the bread here is hot and delicious. Been here for 50 years!

My first instinct was to write this review while I was still in the restaurant, sick to my stomach. but I waited until today to calm down and think a bit. But, after being sick all night...here goes. This is not the Deanie's from days gone by, or even the Deanie's from a year or two ago. The food was... More

We went to Deanie's about 6pm and there was not a big wait which is unusual. However. I was glad because we were hungry. We ordered the half seafood platter for 4 people, which was more than enough. The food was piping hot and it tasted amazing. We love Deaniand will be back every time we come to New Orleans.... More

My husband and I went out without the kids while on vacation and had had a great meal! We had the 1/2 fried seafood platter and it was a lot of food! I had soft shell crab for the first time, it wasn't bad, but the oysters were wonderful and so were the crawfish balls! You would never know what... More

I was introduced to Deanie's many years ago and every time I come to New Orleans I must eat at Deanie's! It is the best and you have enough in one serving to eat twice if not more! There is nothing you can order that you won't enjoy! You can tell how good it is, because there is always a... More

We have dined here for about 40 years. We remember when it was real good in the late 70s, 80s and into the 90s and not so good in the early 2000s. Things have improved significantly now that a new generation of the family are running things. We look forward to returning and recommending to those that are visiting from... More

Description
Deanie's Seafood is loved by locals as one of the "Best Seafood Restaurants in New Orleans" (Gambit Weekly, Times Picayune), "Best Place for Crawfish" and the favorite place for fresh Louisiana seafood prepared in our signature Creole seasonings. For over 50 years Deanie's has been serving huge portions of the best boiled, broiled and fried seafood. Its two restaurants in Bucktown and the French Quarter earned a Zagat food and service rating of "very good to excellent," and its French Quarter private dining spaces are perfect for special events, rehearsal dinner and weddings.
