Last night we had another fantastic meal at The White Swan, last nights menu was all about local game. Spontaneous lunch for 2. Perfectly balanced meal, beef was tender as only quality meat Prepared by quality hands can be. Full marks for gravy boat- my obsession. White Swan bitter was ace, Shiraz by the glass was very enjoyable. Good luck, keep up the standards. Thank you.

Visited today 30th October, it's been a few years since we had eaten here. It's gone through a internal transformation since our last visit. Booked up the night before our visit. Met by friendly staff. Shame we were in the rear of the hotel away from the busier and more atmospheric lounge. Lovely little pub. Nice and clean with good choice of beers. Quite a decent menu to choose from. The have fishy fridays, with a large selection of fish! Normally you can get a superb Sunday lunch with Great Roast bef , Yorkshire puds etc.HOWEVER this Sunday, They excelled themselves serving the best Roast Partridge I have ever tasted accompanied by a revelation in crispy potato and veg to suit. We enjoyed a gorgeous meal here Saturday night. Great menu choice and it was hard to make that choice too! However can wholeheartedly recommend the Steak and Ale pie and Chocolate Shard dessert. On our way back from Whitby we saw the sign for Thornton le Clay and remembered eating there years ago so we rang and booked a table,wow! we weren't disappointed lovely restaurant, friendly staff and the food was superb, a steak and ale pie to die for,also fabulous fish pie. The service was also amazing thank you.

Visited on a wet Saturday night after phoning to book a table a hour earlier very pleased they could fit us in...ordered starters all three of us were pleased with our choices.next steak pie,gammon & chicken curry all looked great when put on table and tasted as good as they looked...only live local & will be back very soon...

The whole day was a great success at the wedding of friends.Julie the landlady organised everything to perfection.the food was superb with even mini fish &Chips with evening tit bits,a great country pub and very friendly efficient staff.
