We met friends for lunch at Byrnes shortly after it opened on a Saturday morning, but were not the first in the door. This, in and of itself, was a promising sign that there already was a waiting clientele just as the restaurant opened for...business. Our waiter was pleasant, congenial, and efficient as the dining area began to fill to capacity. Our adult beverages arrived quickly where the stout was properly poured with a sufficient head to make an impression. BTW, a $7 pint of Guinness from the draught is a bargain in today's restaurant world. Our entrees following a short time afterward. We all were pleasantly surprised to find that every meal was well prepared, aromatic and tasty, and reasonable in price. Their Bangers and Mash, with brown onion gravy, was akin to what one would expect in Dublin or many Irish Pubs in Britain or the continent. Similarly, today's Shepherd's Pie was delightful, providing several distinctive layers that satisfied the taste buds. One of our friends who normally requests a box for take home was so pleased by her meal, that there was no need for a box. In summary, Byrnes Irish Pub parallels those establishments we've frequented on the other side of the pond in atmosphere, attention to meals, and an selection of draught Guinness products. We will return.More

Nice typical Irish pub in downtown Bath. What you should expect in an Irish pub - a good pint of Guinness and Irish-American pub food. Good burgers, fish&chips. When you have seafood overload, it's a good way to break it up.

Ordered the Shepherd’s pie for $15. It was a small portion that didn’t come with melted cheese like most shepherd’s pies should. I discovered the cheese was an additional $1 upsell. Overpriced and tasted average. The pints are not pints either, just 16ox or smaller...in what appears to be miniature looking pint glasses - overall we were not impressed with our meal. Finally please train your servers not to deliver the check just because we have finished eating. We didn’t ask for the bill and would have probably spent more money on a few more drinks - a below average experienceMore

Had their meatloaf and a Smithwick ale. Both were very good. Nice atmosphere, but then again I love anything Irish. Friendly service.

Charming little pub in a charming downtown locale. Service was really good. Easy parking. Reasonably priced. But the food was just disappointing. First thing my wife and I wanted was a delicious beer. They had a pretty long list on tap. But I'm not a...hoppy IPA guy. They had several IPAs ( some double) and one porter, which was so bitter I had to send it back. We got the Bangers and Mash and Pam's homemade Mac n Cheese. The BnM was ok. It wasn't bad but not memorable. The Mac n Cheese was dry and almost flavorless. If you love your beer bitter maybe give them a try, but don't get the Mac.More

We stop in here every summer for lunch after our four hour drive. It never disappoints. The staff is always friendly and the food is yummy. We always get the spicy leprechaun balls to start (mainly because it used to make my kids laugh) and...pretzels. After that, there hasn't been a miss on the menu. From shepherd's pie to sandwiches, we've never had a bad meal. Love the interior, it's got a great old bar feel to it. One of our favorite summer spots.More

Superb Mac and Cheese. Add the banger, they are delicious. My lunch mate had the chili, huge bowl and delicious. Everything was hot, served fast, with a smile. Rare these days. Will be our new lunch spot here in town for sure.

The Pub has a vibrant yet pleasantly quiet vibe, but the Sheppard's pie was severely over spiced. For one of the most expensive items on the menu the shepards pie was not just lack-luster, but tasted like the ground beef was seasoned with a bucket...of dried pizza seasoning herbs.More

This place has character and lots of Irish memorabilia on its walls. The bar counter top was hammered copper. Soft music aired in the background. Soccer and baseball were on TV. A chalkboard beer list covered all the basics. Other chalked signs covered menu items....Signs and symbols of all kinds created plenty of Irish ambiance. I chose a spot at the bar; tables were also available. Service was fast and attentive. A Lone Pine ale was cold and crisp. Tortilla chips and guacamole dip were perfectly delicious. Parking was curbside or in public lots. I liked all that I found here; I disliked nothing.More

My son and I came here for dinner one evening. Food was good. My burger was large and juicy and very tasty. My son had the Shepherd's Pie and thought it was too spicy. We ate there while in town on business. The lunch specials were great; very tasty and very reasonably-priced. Everything looked so good it was hard to make a decision, but what we ended up choosing (with some input from our server) was excellent. It's a...nice atmosphere - a classic Irish pub - but the food is definitely a cut above. We'll go back.More

I think there may be at least 2 TVs. They are big Red Sox and Bruins fans, so they are probably tuned to NESN or MLB.
