From the moment we walked in the front door and saw a line of people who told us they had been standing there quite awhile and no one even spoke to them, although there was a hostess and staff walking all around - we should have realized what we were in for. When we finally got to the hostess stand, she ignored us but eventually said we should follow her, and took us to a table outside. The setting is the best thing about this restaurant and that is fortunate for them because the patrons sit there a LONG time before anyone took our orders and then much longer before the food arrives. My husband and I each ordered a bowl of soup and his eventually came, but not mine. The waitress said she would go check on it and it was probably at least 20 minutes before she returned with my now cold bowl of soup. I had a small Caesar salad and my husband had a fried haddock sandwich and they were good, but certainly not worth the wait.

We stopped here for lunch on a cool and rainy day. We were quickly seated. We enjoyed our simple lunch —- a hamburger for my husband and mussels for me. My only complaint is that the mussels should have been served with some bread for the tasty broth. Also, they should not charge for a glass of club soda that is not coming from a bottle. Service was good.

I had fried parsnips with sea salt , which were a pleasant surprise to find at a tavern. Also the veggie wrap, which had grilled asparagus and eggplant in it. Both were very good! The rest of the group had a salad with chicken and the fish and chips. the portions are very large . the fried food is very lightly battered , so very good. We would recommend and return to this when our travels take us back up north.

Terrible experience! We waited almost 2 hours for our food to come. Our kids (ages 2 and 6) were so hungry they had to eat fruit snacks I happened to have in my purse while we waited. During that time, we received no drink refills and were completely ignored. We watched people who were seated after us get their food and leave and still nothing. We're fairly sure our waiter forgot to put the order in because when we started complaining, we got our food. My husband asked to see a manager and no manager ever came out to talk to us. We finally received our food and still no manager. My husband went in to find the manager and the manager said she had not seen any tickets that were over 90 minutes (effectively saying we were lying about how long we'd been there). She said to my husband "What do you want me to do about it? We're busy." None of our food or drinks were even comped. Both my husband and I have been in food service and are always understanding when things happen, but this was completely ridiculous! Food was super hot when it arrived and tasted just ok. So the service was terrible, the manager was rude, and we've never been happier to leave a restaurant as we were that night. If I could give it less than 1 star, I would. What a huge disappointing waste of money!

Due to Covid19, they have switched to takeout only, and it is no longer the same. With only outside seating, self-service, the value just isn't there anymore. I used to go for the haddock chowder, which while they still serve it in cardboard container, the delicious rolls are missing. Both times I have ordered takeout, I had to return for plastic silverware and napkins. Hard to eat chowder with a plastic teaspoon. All entrees except fried seafood are gone. They added some sandwiches, kind of like subway, but charge extra for cheese. No chicken or steak dishes at all, but not sure I would even eat steak out of styrofoam container. They have ice cream at the window, and have a little general store. You are better off walking right across the street to the fully stocked IGA. Even the area around around the outside dining is run down with tall grass which used to be maintained. No excuse not to at least mow.

We came to Bath, Maine to go to the Maritime museum. It is a very small town located on the Kennebec River. There were only 5 or so restaurants in town so we chose this one as it was located on the river and had outside seating. My husband had the fried scallops which he said were very good. I just had an appetizer Greek salad which was very generous and sufficient for dinner. The service was friendly and quick but there were only about 5 tables with guests so I don’t know how it would be in season. I would recommend it if you find yourself in Bath.

This restaurant does not promote gluten free. I ordered a Ruben on a GF roll, with no cheese. One side of the bun had less than a teaspoon of Thousand Island so I asked for more. Without the melted cheese it was dry . The waiter brought the traditional container of a bit more, about a heaping tablespoon worth. When I received the bill it had a .75 charge for sauce. I complained and noted I paid for no cheese but the waiter commented I was lucky it wasn’t $75.

We enjoyed lobster rolls, fried clam roll, crab cake sandwich and fried haddock with a veggie and fruit salad. Great service. Try the Thirsty Botanist local IPA! Dined out on the deck which is covered; located on the Kennebec river, a very short walk from Maine's First Ship museum and local shops, easy parking.

The food was good, but not great. The menu descriptions created expectations that the food did not deliver. It seemed as though the restaurant rested on being part of a tourist spot and thus the ability to charge higher prices rather than the excellence of its food. It felt pretentious. We would probably not go back.

I do understand that restaurants are short staffed at this time and therefore do not critique service. Went for an early dinner as we were staying across the street. Server was very pleasant. We sat outside closest to the dock. We had appetizers of clam chowder and shrimp cocktail. My chowder was cool, not many clams and bland. Had to had extra salt and pepper. the shrimp cocktail was a tad overcooked and the sauce was spicy (although that's how he likes it). I had the fried haddock and my guest had crab cake sandwich. My was flavorless; well cooked and fried right just not flavor. The crab cake was too bready and also bland unless you added alot of the sauce. Price was normal but not worth it. Nice view although we weren't allowed to put up our umbrella due to wind (although other tables had theirs up).

Arrived by boat- easy to dock. Our waitress Michelle was easy going, accommodating and fun. We sat outside under the awning for full shade, but they have tables with umbrellas as well. Beautiful ocean side view. I had the crab cakes with a small side Ceasar salad- the crab cakes were delicious with a great crunch. The chef helped deliver our order. Husband had the fired haddock sandwich and he said it was very good. Good cocktails, and selection of beer. Would go back....

My Wife and I stopped here for lunch in the middle of an 8-hour road trip. The menu selections were varied, numerous, and appealing. We opted for soups and salads. Each was excellent! Our Server, Meghanne, was happy, bubbly, very helpful, knowledgeable of the menu items, and thoroughly enjoyable. She represents the establishment very well. We will definitely go back when in the Bath Maine area again.

What a nice place! Lots of seating, both inside and out. We ordered the hot buttered lobster; it was tender and tasty. The coleslaw and sweet potato fries were delicious! The warm blueberry pie was a nice finish to a good meal. Devin is a great server!

Have not been here since they reopened the inside, and after today, will never return. Countless times I had their haddock chowder. It used to be delicious with plenty of haddock and potatoes, and a creamy broth that was not thick. A true chowder is not thick! Used to serve it with warm rolls. Today, tried the haddock chowder and it was horrible! Two little pieces of haddock in a glue like soup. Soup from a can would be better. It wasn’t even hot, luke warm at best. The bowls themselves were much smaller too. Came with 2 bags of oyster crackers. And the flies…omg, kill the bugs!

We were hesitant to eat here after reading the reviews but I am so glad we did. The food was spectacular. I got the Greek Scallops with mashed potatoes with feta and spinach with garlic. The seared scallops were so tender and the sides we so tasty! My friend got the lobster tortellini which was half lobster and half tortellini! The service was a bit slow but it was obvious they were short staffed. However despite that, the employees were polite and pleasant the whole time and were even helping each other out. It was a great decision and a great meal.
