We enjoyed our wings, burgers and meatloaf. There was a band outside the night we were there and that added a nice element to the meal. We ate inside because it was packed outside. Really enjoyed our meals.

We were looking for somewhere casual to eat in Freeport. It was a beautiful day and we ate outside. My wife had the shepherd's pie and I had the meatloaf. Both came in ample portions and were delicious. Great service. Nice selection of their own...More

Adult beverages stop at ye olde watering hole. Pleasant seating on the outside deck. The friendliest staff in Freeport, Maine & the world. The weekly specials were enticing & saved for the next time. There will always be a next time!

Looking for a place to sit outside in the sun, have a beer, and let the kids run free on the lawn, then this is your place. Recommend the Brown or an IPA in the fall most definitely a Halloween Ale.

We like to go here with our kids in the summer, as they have a large fenced play yard where the kids can run around. Their food is good, typical brew pub food. I haven't had many of their beers, but i did like what...More

Wasn't thrilled with this place. Food was average. Salad came out on a hot plate. Beer had an awful aftertaste. Explained to staff and they still charged us. Waitress had shorts on that were way too short. Fun atmosphere.

Not great but not terrible either. Staff was friendly and the menu offered many typical pub food options as well as extensive seasonal seafood specials. My husband did enjoy his lamb burger but the accompanying potato cake was bland and soggy while my shrimp were...More

Thank you for paying us a visit. We will look into the potato cakes to see what went astray. We appreciate your patronage.

We stopped here for a late lunch while traveling through Maine. It's always fun to discover a local pub while traveling. I ordered the lobster roll and chowder meal and swapped the fries for a Cesar salad. The lobster roll had no fillers and I...More

We were camping nearby with our kids and dogs and we called ahead to make sure our dogs could dine outside with us as one of their other locations had a great review on BringFido.com. We were told that we could bring them but that...More

Food was great. Server was excellent and very knowledgeable. Was a little slow, but she was also waiting a couple other tables plus the bar by herself. Would definitely go back again. Fun little spot!

Gritty McDuff's, Maine's Original Brew Pub specializes in hand-crafted English style ales and traditional and creative pub fare, in a friendly and fun atmosphere. Both Gritty's fine ales and the pubs have won countless "best of" awards through our twenty-six years of operation. Our standard brews are session beers, Gritty's Pub-Style Pale Ale, McDuff's Best Bitter, Black Fly Stout, allowing one to have multiple beers within a reasonable time period without overwhelming the senses. Our seasonal and varietal ale offerings are more adventurous, some with a higher ABV, and some with higher IBU. We brew a beer for all craft brew palates. For the diner, we offer traditional pub fare alongside not so traditional specialty items. Our pub-style long tables with benches easily accommodate parties of all sizes and add to the camaraderie.
