We eat here several times a year and have been trying new items on the menu; always a pleasant experience and you won't go home hungry...

We were at Ruth & Wimpy's last night. We had been to this restaurant several times before, and were very satisfied with their food and service. The restaurant closes for the season tonight, 10/29/16, and having had a great experience on closing day last year we wanted to repeat the experience and made reservations for both days, one of them... Enjoyed a delicious late lunch including the haddock chowder, fried pickles, and a lobster roll. The chowder was okay but thin and lacked a lot of flavor. The pickles were very good, however, and the lobster roll was an epiphany. Splurged with a piece of blueberry pie, and am so glad I did.

Our kind of place. Great Maine seafood menu. Had lobster stew, fried clams, fried scallop roll, whooping-pie cake. Terrific. Fast. Friendly. It won't be our last visit.

On our first night in Sullivan we went to Ruth and Wimpy's to get Lobster for 2 to go. The lobster was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Stopped in to pick up a to go order to take on an impromptu picnic. Had the lobster roll and 3 little pigs BLT - both were very good options. Also had the blueberry pie which was very nice as it wasn't overly sweet, but had just the right amount of sugar.

The seafood platters were pretty decent, large in quantity. The atmosphere needed some updates! Slow service but decent.

Long lines were to be expected, as we were warned by friends. The food was ok, but only luke-warm by the time it reached us. Lobster rolls were short on flavor, though the baked haddock would have been really good had it been warmer. Atmosphere is pretty bad too… cramped and noisy. Though we knew this was a local's place... More

Description
A great rusticated Maine restaurant where you can get a reasonably priced lobsta dinner and the best homemade pie anywhere. The personnel are always great and Wimpy is a neat guy. I love it there. No trip to Bar Harbor is complete without a stop at Ruth & Wimpy's (and I haven't got a dime in this).
