For me, Greek restaurants are top and down. This is really up. I had the chicken souvlaki and it was tender, moist and delicious. The caviar, feta cheese mixture to start was wonderful. Add good service and nice people and you have a winner.

Upscale, modern Greek cooking -- what a revelation. The meal was unhurried, the food and wine were wonderful. Don't know where they get their feta cheese, but it's memorable.

Gourmet Greek food. No, that's not an oxymoron. Outstanding food, service, and ambience. Kudos to the entire staff. This is a restaurant worthy of a very long detour.

Friday night reservation for 3 at 7 pm. Table ready. Atmosphere was wonderful, up lights on old brick walls, Greek music playing, pleasing decorations and colors. Although tables were close together, sound did not appear to travel or be a problem. Waitress brought over a...More

We tried kefalograviera meh syka saganaki (pan-fried cheese with figs--delicious) and lagos meh phyllo (good) for appetizers, followed by kotopoulo souvlaki and moussaka as entrees, and a slice of cheesecake for dessert. The entrees were very good, and the cheesecake was amazing! The ambiance was...More

3 sure things. And while the first two are rather unpleasant and would rarely if ever put a smile on anyone's face, Emilitsa never ever fails to do so. Take last night's dinner for example - and countless others before it - which was EXTRAORDINARY....More

Emilitsa is a Greek restaurant located in the arts district of Portland, Maine and boasts a contemporary and casual atmosphere. Emilitsa brings a wide array of Mezethes (small plates), Megala Piata (large plates), and pristinely fresh seafood to the seacoast area. We honor the breadth of traditional cuisine from all regions of Greece. We prepare our Greek dishes with as many local, fresh, organic and natural ingredients as are available to us.
