I have come here many times and it's usually alright, not great, but good. When I went this last time the ramen broth was so salty it was inedible. To make matters worse when I mentioned this to my server, she wondered if I was familiar with ramen. I explained to her that not only do I make my own... More

I walked in at the peak of lunchtime. It was packed but I was lucky enough to get a stool at the bar. The bartender is also your server when sitting at the bar. Even with all tables full, I did not feel it was too noisy. I could easily have a conversation with the person next to me. (and... More

Great great great ramen noodle bowls!! The broths are on point and in my opinion the best noodle bar north of Boston! Seating on the street makes for a great people watching perch in the summer months..When in Portland, go here! U won't be disappointed!

The Brussels sprouts dish was simply amazing! It's a must-try whenever you are in Portland, Maine. Their ramen was also good.

Our host suggested Pai Men Miyake in place of Baobao Dumpling house as they were closed this particular day. She told us to try the brussel sprouts - they did not disappoint!

Authentic street Japanese food done well is always a bit of a Zen experience. My fiancé and I had our first date at Miyake on a cold snowy night in February 3 years ago and we return here every time we return from traveling or need a calming atmosphere. Food and beverages are always great, the service good and the... More

I've been known to drive over an hour to visit Pai Men when I feel the need for ramen. The restaurant is a relatively strange space with it's Jenga style walls of wooden blocks and swooping metal structures in the ceiling. In the summer it can be kind of hot (there's a lot of boiling water for the ramen!) and... More

Soup at Miyake is a must have while visiting Portland. It is hands down the best Japanese cuisine in the city.

We stopped here on our drive back to Boston from Bar Harbor, and were pleasantly surprised that they were open continuously for food when we went at 3:30pm on a Monday. They accommodated our 13 month old in her stroller, but also offered a high chair. My Miso Ramen was delicious, my husband agrees that it had the best broth,... More
