Be forewarned that it is difficult to get a reservation at this restaurant due to high demand. I called a week ahead and both Friday and Saturday nights were booked solid. I finally got reservation for Sunday at 530 pm which is first seating. We had the seafood sampler appetizer which was excellent. My wife had the halibut entree and... More

A close friend has recommended Fore Street for years. For his family it has always been a place to celebrate anniversaries and birthdays. After visiting, I can see why. First note, MAKE A RESERVATION! We were celebrating a birthday and the evening was perfect. The establishment has an open kitchen so you can see what is happening and it is... More

We were excited to visit Fore Street off season. We went in early April, and were able to get a table right away at around 6pm. It is a bit smokey, but that's why you come to this restaurant. So if smoke bothers you, don't go. The wait staff were knowledgeable and helpful about portion sizes. My husband and I... More

Fore Street is my go to restaurant when visiting Portland. The atmosphere is sophisticated yet rustic. My favorite is their mussels in almond butter. Highly recommend.

Was able to get a table walking in on a Sunday night. Our first table was directly in front of the open oven, but they changed our location quickly. That would have been a very pleasant spot in the middle of the winter, but not so much on an exceptionally hot Spring day. Our waitress was very pleasant and professional.... More

Fore Street is one of the best restaurants in Portland. The food is outstanding, with excellent quality, locally sourced ingredients. It is obvious that the kitchen staff are passionate about food and are dedicated to their work. I like the atmosphere and the open kitchen, as well. You cannot go wrong at Fore Street.

First of all I recommend making reservations as far in advance as you can. About 25% is only for walk ins. It's always packed! The bar has one menu & the entree menu is only served in the main dining area. Wear something decent, although it is casual. I loved SEEING the fresh items they cooked with through a window... More

Easier to get a reservation at this time of year. Dissapointed in the Pork belly appetizer, but enjoyed the ravioli main course. The Sancerre was excellent. Portions are plentiful.

Many will say this is the rest restaurant in Portland. It is very good! The menu is at best eclectic and the service is outstanding. The wine list is excellent and the drinks are good. The portions are......small! The quality is very good but again the portions are.......small! I would go back again as this was not my first time... More

Delicious flank steak and hostess, officious waitress. Don't forget the Std Baking Co downstairs, and remember reservations seem to be 2 months in advance.
