Very fresh and delicious! We loved the way you can see the beautiful kitchen from from the dining room. Great menu and wine selection. We had a pear crisp with basil ice cream for dessert, WOW

Simply put: Fore Street had an imaginative menu, expertly prepared and professionally served. I had the charcuterie plate with lamb pastrami and foie gras. It was delicious. I followed with the Arctic char, cooked medium rare (rare in the middle), and it could not have been better. Our server was very accommodating, knowledgeable and pleasant. We had a good but... More

Atmosphere, menu, drinks and service are fabulous! It's a little pricey, and you will wait while your food is cooked by the chef...but it's worth it! This should be the "have to try" restaurant!

Dinner was ok but given their reputation I was expecting much better. Bread made onsite from their downstairs bakery was outstanding. The bartender was both knowledgeable and welcoming. From there the meal was not up to expectation. First issue is the noise level - so loud at times that it difficult to talk to my wife across the table. Second... More

We treated ourselves to an after Christmas night out by dining at Fore Street. We made reservations before Thanksgiving. It was amazing. The food, the atmosphere and staff made for a wonderful night out. I had Arctic Char and my wife the signature half-chicken on a spit. Both were amazing. The fettuccine appetizer was ridiculously good. The menu changes daily... More

Have eaten here once before and was looking forward to our evening. We were not disappointed. From the appetizer to dessert, everything was wonderful. And as good as the food was, or server was just as good. Overall it was a wonderful evening and we will gladly return.

We (two couples)enjoyed our semi-annual Christmas dinner at Fore Street. From the moment you walk in the front door you are greater with a warmth rarely found outside of mom's kitchen. The wafts of smoky air from hardwood burning in the open oven nearly insists you take off your hat and mittens and cozy up on a sofa for an... More

Still great after all these years. The food is awesome and the wine selection is excellent as well. I have not read recent reviews here, but if you have not been you may want to know that Fore Street is a big open room with virtually no sound absorption material whatsoever. So if you are hard of hearing beware. But... More

We were in the Portland area for a romantic weekend getaway. This place did not disappoint. The food was fresh and done to perfection. Service was good. Waiter very knowledgeable about the food and the area. Pricy, but worth it in my opinion. Sometimes, you just have to spoil yourself. This was worth it.

It had been a couple of years since our last visit. Happy to report that the very high standards have not slipped. My Arctic char over spaghetti squash dinner was the best fish dish I have had all year. Our salads burst with fresh local flavors. The toffee dessert provided the perfect finish. Cooking staff are masters of the wood... More
