Had such an amazing brunch at Caiola's! Every single item we got was perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned and so delicious. I'm a big fan of Damian Sansonetti and Ilma Lopez anyway and I think they brought Caiola's to a whole new level. I know they will be closing for a while they renovate and come back with a whole new... More

Several friends recommnded Caiola's, so I suggested it for dinner with a few friends. We were all very disappointed. For one thing, THREE menu items which we ordered were not available (entree and drinks). The food was ok but nothing special. We were expecting traditional Italian and there was very little of that. One of us ordered salmon with baby... More

I like everything about this restaurant. I always have the beet salad but try different main courses. Last week I had the lamb and it was excellent. Staff is friendly and efficient while working in a small space. Last year a group of us filled the wine cellar for a holiday get together. I like the pace of the service.... More

We love Caiola's ambiance, but our meals left us a little disappointed. We opened with the spinach salad and polenta fries. The fries were different- in a good way. The salad's maple vinegarette dressing was not too maple-y, so it worked well. Our entrees were a little disappointing. I had strip steak. It was overly seasoned and tasted salty. It... More

We were recommended to try Caiola's as a good, local trattoria. The evening we went, there were obviously some regulars/diners familiar to the staff, which is usually a good sign. We had one particularly good main course - spaghetti Amatriciana, which we've eaten several times in Italy, most recently near the town where it was invented - and one which... More

We went on a Sunday morning for brunch. The menu was unimaginative. The omelette, home fries and toast were very good. The portions were disappointing. Only one piece of toast and a small amount of homefries. I would expect more for $13-$14 a plate. The service was fair. Our server was a little too attentive as she came to pick... More

This restaurant has a fresh food, gourmet style approach. The service was excellent, and the outside patio seating (recently remodeled and upgraded) was great. The new menu and service makes Caiola's one of Portland's best restaurants. (Not an easy feat in a big restaurant/foodie town).

My husband and I came here after eating at a not so great place and were lucky enough to find this place to fill up at! I was surprised that I could love spaghetti so much at a restaurant. The sauce was delicious and the noodles were thick. It's just spaghetti but it was so good, it had a nice... More

My adult son and I took my husband to Caiola's for his b'day. My husband and I had been a year ago and wanted to take my son, who lived in Italy several years ago. It was everything we'd hoped for: solicitous service, good drinks, a varied, enticing menu, terrific service. . . . At the end my son mentioned... More

My wife & I were visiting from Australia August 2016 & were pleasantly surprised at the nice food served, particularly the desserts. Service was also friendly & efficient.
