The food is average, the wait is long for lunch (about an hour if you're lucky), and most of us are here for the raved about popovers, which without butter and jam are truly not worth the effort or expense. So why are we here?...More

The day we stopped at the Jordan Pond House for lunch was a foggy misty day. There was no outside seating due to the weather but we got right in without a reservation. The place was packed but the staff handled the crowd well. We...More

Very crowded and hard to find a parking place, even though we visited after Columbus Day!. But once seated, the signature homemade popovers and strawberry jam were amazing, as remembered, and the seafood chowder was loaded with seafood and absolutely delicious!

We were excited to try this reastaurant but the food was not as good and over priced and waited 4 min to be seated for 3pm since we did not make reservations. The patio outside where you have view of the pond is no longer...More

So, the biggest problem was Parking. And once we found an open space, six others opened at the same time! The Food was great, however we would have preferred to eat outside. They warned ahead of time that there was a Bee issue outdoors. They...More

There were 8 in our group and our waitress was overheard arguing as we were seated that she had enough tables to wait on, not a good sign. The service went down hill from there. I ordered salad as a side and got chips. When...More

We stopped at Jordan Pond House restaurant while touring Acadia park. Be aware, it’s the only stop in the park so it does get insanely crowded in peak season. We waited about an hour to get seated but it wasn’t too bad of a wait....More

Our group of 13 arrived on bikes to have popovers. We didn't have a reservation, but we were seated at two different tables within 30 minutes. Popovers were delicious, as was the clam chowder (gluten free). We recommend this restaurant.

We didn't make reservations. I had read a previous review where someone had said they were told by the host that they only take reservations for 1/3 of the tables and they save the rest for walk in's.

A popover is a light, hollow roll made from an egg batter similar to that of Yorkshire pudding. It is best to ask to talk to the Chef when you have an allergy. That is what I do as I am allergic to eggs, onions and... More
