Husband gets migraines from msg, nitrites & nitrates (i.e: Bacon, Salt pork). Can he order chowders etc.?

The only way you would know for sure is to ask the restaurant what they put in their chowder. Generally speaking, clam chowder does not have those, but why chance it?

Yes they do allow dogs on the patio as long as you have them on a leash.
