We stopped here for brunch. My hubby got lunch and I got breakfast. He ordered the soup sampler, tiny samples of chowders, and bisque. The chowder was the best!! Best we had while we were in Maine. Skip the others, they weren't memorable to me. I had breakfast combo plate. Eggs, sausage and blueberry pancakes. I don't normally order pancakes... More
It's our go to spot now when going through southern Maine. Plan trip timing so we pass through at meal time. Seafood chowder is fabulous. We get our lobster hot with butter and done to perfection. Dessert choices are enticing. Would have gotten a five but the fries were not the greatest.
We were lucky to hit this place at 11 o'clock on a Wednesday morning in November. There was already a line forming out the door by the time we sat down. My husband had the most amazing seafood chowder and a cod cake, and I had the crab stuffed mushrooms and a bowl of pumpkin soup. We wished we were... More
This is the third time we have visited. The Maine Diner is not fancy. It is an expanded diner and is basic as far as seating and decor. One should not expect elegance. And the dining is relatively quick. There can be a long wait, but when we visited we got in immediately. The diner serves breakfast all day, so... More
We have eaten breakfast here a few times, and it never disappoints. Very fast service, friendly staff and good hot food. Our waitress helped us find a place to repair our tire, and she even phoned ahead for us. so that they were expecting us when we got there.Cant beat that for Maine hospitality!
When there is so much hype about a place it can be tough to live up to expectations. The Maine Diner was able to live up to the hype. It is clean. The food is good and the staff was efficient and friendly. We had the homemade hash which was made with beets. It was different, but very good. The... More
What a wonderful place that we found. We had the Lobster eggs Benedict and oh my.... it was the most delious thing that I have ever tasted. The service was awesome the price was right and we have a new place to add to our list of places to visit when we return.
As usual the meal at the Maine Diner did not disappoint. Friend and I met there and I had a most delightful lunch, great food, terrific service, and a fair price. I highly recommend this landmark restaurant especially this time of the year when the lines aren't outside the door. I love it that they use their own homegrown vegetables too.
We each had the 2s special. Every thing was very good and reasonably priced. Will definitely stop when we are back in the area.
