We had just checked into our hotel so we had no idea where to go. After asking the staff where the best lobster rolls were, we were told to come here and they didn't disappoint. My husband said it was one of the best ones...he had ever had. I got the fried haddock filet and it was very good and flaky. The only thing that was slightly disappointing was that it was $30 for the double lobster roll, but I guess that's what we should expect being on the coast of Maine. Other than that, very nice staff and very cozy restaurant.More

We were on a mid-week getaway to Maine. And, as always a stop at Billy's Chowder House in Wells, Maine during the second week of February . We were fortunate enough to a wonderful waitress named Stephanie: very professional, very congenial, keep in mind this...is during a Pandemic. Next time any of you go to Billy's, hope you are lucky enough to get Stephanie as a server!More

If by chance you’ve felt apprehensive in dining out. This group really has it feeling safe and yet inviting. Do yourself a favor. For your tummy and mental blocks. Get out and live a little. Did I mention the amazing seafood.

Pretty much anything you get at Billys is a hit. I am not a fan of oysters or things like that. but my hubby loved them. i got seafood chowder and my hubby got haddock chowder. his only complaint was there were a lot of...potatoes and not much haddock. but the taste was great. my seafood chowder was great and i could have eaten 3 more bowls of it. i got lobster mac and cheese and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD. so creamy and filling. suggest for sure. my husband got the billys famous platter and he devoured it all. said it was not greasy at all which with fried food is a big thing. Some places you go and food is fried, it is soaked in grease. thankfully not the case here. The view of the marsh is nice. a bit stinky at certain times of the day but that is not the restaurants fault.More

We ate at this restaurant twice while visiting in the area. The food was fantastic and our wait person, Elizabeth C. made our meals extra special. She was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. She truly made our eating experience more enjoyable.

My husband, Jim and I stopped in for a last minute Friday night out! The beautiful weather added to the warm atmosphere inside...our server, Rachel was delightful and engaging. When I ordered the Haddock Reuben without the sauerkraut she suggested I replace it with coleslaw...on top of the sandwich - who knew (besides Rachel) how good that would be. The creamy coleslaw took the sandwich to a whole new level - all the flavors, the grilled pumpernickel/rye bread, melted cheese, dressing, cole slaw and amazing haddock combined together to make for a wonderful meal! GREAT JOB EVERYONE!More

I spoke with a staff member at Billy's and they are closed on Thanksgiving Day 2019, sorry about that.
