This doesn't have the ambiance of some other lobster roll shacks in Maine but when it comes to food the Sea Basket is hard to beat. Have been coming here on and off since the 90's - was my grandmother's favorite place. Almost everything is fried. Place is clean and right off the highway. About a mile south of Red's... More

Driving back from Acadia, stopped a couple times but most restaurants were full and had 1/2 hour waiting times. Finally stopped at Sea Basket - I can see why it was not full. Service was medium, prices were high and food was meh. Would not recommend the stop here. Also they use styrofoam for everything.

Great food lobster rolls with slot of mean very nicely done. Lobster stew was very creamy full of lobster. Fried platter was tasty lightly fried but too many fries compared to the seafood. Brought home some lobster stew and seafood chowder for dinner.

Did not want to waste several hours standing in line for lobster rolls at Red's, so we checked out the Sea Basket for Fired Clams and Haddock. Well fried and tasty. Their prices are in line with similar clam shacks

I have never had such awesome fried food. They really have their frying technique down pat! The scallops were succulent. I don't think you could get a bad meal in this place!

The Seabasket has been a pillar of excellence for seafood in Midcoast Maine. I have tried many different seafoods including the lobster roll. Personally, I like the fried clams. The facillity is spotless as is the open kitchen. The excellent food comes at a price, a bowl of chowder is almost $10.00 but worth it.

Don't bother with tourist trap "Red's" down at the bridge; climb the southbound hill and travel about a mile: it's on the west side of US 1. Unprepossessing atmosphere, but no traffic noises and no diesel smells either. Just fresh delicious seafood. This is where the locals dine. But order judiciously (fisn 'n' chips, for example) or you'll pay more... More

The food is wonderful and one mixed grill platter was plenty for two adults to share, but for that one platter, a small order of onion rings, and two lemonades, $35.00 was just WAY too much to pay. (We have had just as much and just as good for about $30.00 at much nicer restaurants.)

Two weeks in Maine from Ogunquit to Bar Harbor. We stopped at the Sea Basket on our way to the airport. We ordered fried clams, haddock and onion rings. This was by far the best seafood we've had in Maine in ten years of vacationing there. Hands down the best food. My wife also ordered the Lobster Stew. Excellent. We... More

As someone who lives in Maine, we eat fried seafood a lot. This restaurant is one of the tops. The food came out crisp and hot; no sogginess from staying in old oil. Also the restaurant is very, very clean. We ate there three times.
