Gets very busy at times, good food with plenty of parking right on the C&D canal. Only a short ride from PA, a pleasant day trip to Chesapeake City!

We had late lunch with friends and couldn't have had a better experience. The seafood salad, very generously portioned, was delicious and full of crab and shrimp. One of our dining companions added scallops to her salad--a stellar example I wish I'd followed. Service was...More

The easiest way is to follow Google Map on your phone. If you don't have a smart phone I would take DE 1 to route 40 West. Stay on Route 40 until MD 213 and turn left/South. Follow that for about 5 miles. Just before you... More
Some 40 years ago I would make an annual summer visit to a Canal House restaurant a short drive from Neward , Delaware while visiting the univ of Delaware for summer seminars. I recall they announced the boats traveling through the canal and what the were carrying. And the food was very good. Is this the same place, i. e. the one that announced the boats?
