We've visited the Phoenix 3 times since it reopened following the July 2016 flood, and each trip has been different. Most recently we went on a Sunday and sat at the bar for a late lunch/early supper. We arrived around a shift change, and the bartender who took over shortly after we put in our food order was inattentive--we had... More

Good Casual Dining! Full Bar. Great Salads, sandwiches, and crab dip. Live bands on occasion. Private area upstairs for company functions. Friendly, capable wait staff. Haven't ventured back since flood of July 2016, but see lots of people going in.

The Phoenix now has the distinction of having actually risen from the ashes! Being at the low end of Ellicott City's Main Street, they too the full brunt of the Great Flash Flood of '16. After a long wait, they have finally reopened with full service. It's a fairly tight space, with a dining room with many tables separated from... More

The Phoenix has been a favorite for 20 years. This is our first time back since the flood and it is better than ever. Chicken fingers were the best my wife has eaten. Not from prepackaged frozen: nice, done just right and perfect! My daughters Club was piled high with roast beef, bacon.. she rated it a top 10 ever... More

Great little place with good food! We were regulars before the flood closed the place and we can't wait for it to reopen...and are hopeful that it will. Can't wait to see what changes there will be.

Before the tragic flood, this was our go-to place in Ellicott City. We live just up the hill, so the Phoenix was just a few minute drive away. OK, the place can seem a bit run-down at first, but don't lit that "atmosphere" fool you. The chef is top-notch. His menu items range from the deliciously simple burgers, to salads... More

We were told to try this restaurant out by a local and we wanted to explore Old Ellicott City. We were able to get seated right away. the food was good, the waitress was very nice, but the place was very noisey. I thought it would be good to mention in case anyone wanted a quiet restaurant. My only true... More

They offered a soup sampler with 2 soups $5.95 a bit pricey but it was worth every slurp!! The creamy Maryland crab soup was the absolute best I ever tasted.

Came here for lunch with my husband one day and it was not appealing to me at all. Food was okay but nothing special.

My friend and I decided to venture to Ellicott City for lunch. The first restaurant we came to was The Phoenix. We were on the early side of the lunch hour so the restaurant was almost empty. The menu consisted of so many tasty-sounding options, it was hard to choose. Our waitress was attentive, yet giving us the needed time... More
