The Judge's Bench has been an Ellicott City staple for decades. A small venue with low ceilings and dark wood, its got a cozy feel. The menu is limited (I had been hoping for a salad), but the Chicken Finger Wrap I had was delicious. I went on a Saturday night and it was a bit crowded for my taste,... More

Came here to celebrate being finished taking the bar exam. I wanted to see old Ellicott City - this place is right in the town proper at the beginning of the main street through the center of town. Clearly the locals gather here - seemed like some come every night to hang out. The food is just pub/bar food on... More

Our table is near the entrance from the left facing the mounted TV and it's just enough to hear some people talking at the bar. Tried their burger and fries for lunch while watching a game. The staff doesn't look very engaging. When my husband was placing our orders, a weird old man sitting by himself at the bar turned... More

While looking for a place to have lunch in Ellicott City, we were recommended The Judge's Bench. The menu was small but had some good appetizers listed. We ordered several items from the appetizers first. The soft pretzel and quesidilla were both tasty. We especially liked the steak fries with cheese gravy. We then ordered sandwiches and burgers. The Reuben... More

Great Beer Selection. Their Wiskey selection has over 200. We did not have time to eat so unfortunately I can't say any thing about the food. Great Pub.

The Judge's Bench is one of the long time mainstays of Ellicott City's Main Street, located at the top of the hill across from the wine store. They have a fantastic beer selection, both on tap and by the bottle. Their real pride is their Scotch and Whiskey selection, and they have a large menu just for that. Their are... More

On Sunday afternoon I stopped in the "Judges Bench" for the first time for a quick lunch. I was greeted by the owner, Mike Johnson who knew everyone in the Pub by their first name and made me feel like I was a long time customer. I mentioned that I liked craft beer and Mike quickly gave me a introductory... More

Great family run place, terrific food, huge tap beer selection, friendly and knowledgeable owners and could be the best selection of whiskies in the state! Almost 300 different kinds. Inside tip - get the warm pretzel bites! Its in a hundred year old tavern. Plenty of parking across the street. Went there on a Saturday for a privet baby shower,... More
