Best cheese burger I've ever had! Highly recommend. Ate during Brunch hours. Looks fancy but is very casual.

We were greeted at the door and directed to the hostess. We did not have reservations but were seated in the bar side of the restaurant, as requested. There we were warmly met by our server, Damian. Once he returned with our beverages and bread,...we discussed our meals. We both knew what we were going to order before our arrival, but that changed after our talk. We had the gazpacho and split pea soup specials (which were great!) and I could not pass up one of the night's specials: lobster risotto. The creaminess was wonderful and the generous amount of lobster meat (two claws and more!) was great. The Guinness Beef Stew was tender, savory, and delicious. The Flourless Jameson Cake and the warm Guinness Bread Pudding, both accompanied by your choice of creamy and delicious house-made ice cream was the perfect ending to a night of warm communication and walk-through of the offerings with Damian. We will be back soon! Thank you all for a job well done! Keep up the great work.More

[Thurs., Jun 30, '22] What an variety of lunch Specialties...Fish, Chicken, Pork, Beef, Pasta, Salads...something for every appetite, from Carnivore to Vegetarian. The Irish Inn sits along the scenic wooded trails along MacArthur Blvd in Historic Glen Echo (Montgomery County), MD -- close to the...Glen Echo (Amusement) Park & Clara Barton National Historical Site (not far from Great Falls in Potomac, MD). Check out their Website for Directions, Hours of Operation, and Menu. Easily accessible from MacArthur Blvd, Clara Barton Pkwy, River Rd, and Reservoir Rd, thru the 'Palisades' {*watch for speed cameras!}. I went for 'Scotch Eggs' (enjoyed them there years ago for lunch with my Father) -- but unfortunately they are no longer on the Menu. :-( ***PLEASE BRING BACK!!! :-) Instead, I had the savoury 'Irish Cheeseburger' with a Sharp Irish Cheese (WoW Good!) and a hearty stout Irish mustard -- a PERFECT combination -- and truly a great value at $20...it came with a salad. My AWESOME Waiter, a young man named MacGyver, suggested a try the Pomegranate & Pear Salad with goat cheese (?) & walnuts...Excellent Call! I can see just ordering that salad as the meal next time, it was so tasty. Next lunch visit? i want to eventually try the Potato-Leek Soup, or the Guinness Beef Stew, or their Corned Beef & Cabbage, or Shepherd's Pie (in Ireland, Shepherd's Pie is made with cubed lamb, the beef version is 'Cottage Pie' -- Yummy no matter what you call it). Can you imagine how AWESOME this would be celebrating St. Paddy's Day here?!?!? I should have asked if they ever have bands playing Irish Music. The indoors is so attractively decorated -- you feel so comfortable sharing the moment with your party (and that is truly a rare feeling, so 'Thanks!' Irish Inn). The wonderful natural surrounding setting is relaxing & calming. A great place for a lazy, laid back lunch conversation with family, friends, co-workers...great place for an Intimate dinner for 2 or a reception/party. Mid-Priced (reasonable for the amount and for how flavourful it is) -- they did not rush me...I am not used to in an amount of time that allows you to enjoy your meal and company -- I'm used to a faster pace, so this was a refreshing and welcomed change of pace. Plenty of great shaded outdoor seating with plenty of parking with its 2 driveway entrances. Call and make Reservations just to play it safe. And don't forget to check out their Website before going. By the way, "Bravo" to the Staff for thinking about the Pets and bringing out bowls of water for the dogs...very thoughtfully aware of you, excellent Customer Service. Good Job! b Go enjoy a great tasting lunch in this incredibly awesome setting (both indoors or outside)...and afterwards take a stroll in the beautiful & historic Glen Echo Park (FREE Parking), which is right next to the Clara Barton National Historical Site (what an INCREDIBLE Woman God Bless her for her Good Works!) I hope you enjoy as good of a day there today as I did -- no wonder their customers keep returning. Have Fun! Bon Appetite! :-)More

Homey, intimate atmosphere. Service is friendly and warm. Food is above par to excellent. Wings and calamari apps are strong. Fish and chips a cut above and flaky, and that’s a dish that could easily be a throw-away. Beef stew and shepherd’s pie are primo....The chicken pot pie is very good, though more on the soupy than hearty, thick side. On Tuesday nights, they have a gaggle of players comfortably lounging in the bar, playing. It’s lovely, the exact opposite of the brassy, cheesy “come out you black and tan, come and fight me like a man” Irish fare that can assault you in other places.More

Two weeks ago, my husband (wearing a sling from recent shoulder surgery), a friend and I were at the Irish Inn for lunch. Suddenly my husband’s chair collapsed, because the chair leg fell into an open vent in the floor. The diner next to him...broke his fall. The waiter helped, but no one from management came to apologize or address the incident. Even more appalling was the fact the the unsecured vent cover was replaced, as if nothing had happened, and the next diner (using a cane) was seated an inch from the vent. I wrote to the Manager, and received no reply. We were stunned that a fine restaurant would allow such negligence in the first place, and such indifference to its customers.More

We loved this place. We ordered fried calamari and the soup of the day as starters, then burger, avocado toast and shepherd’s pie as main courses. For dessert we three shared chocolate brownie. Everything was delicious. The Guinness beer was a bonus. The staff very...kind and friendly. We will sure come back!More

we were going for a family lunch and decided to try the irish inn at glen echo. it’s in a beautiful location surrounded by a national park and lots of trees and nature. we sat in the covered patio (that was heated because it was...cold outside) and ordered the fish and chips, the irish stew, cheeseburger and flatbread margherita. the irish stew was decent, the fish had good breading but needed more flavor, the chips/french fries were excellent, the cheeseburger decent and the flatbread topping tasted like you could make at home. the complimentary scones were amazing! overall, excellent ambiance and nature with average foodMore

My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary. We wanted a nice meal and got the exact opposite. There was a FINGER NAIL in my food and the waitstaff was slow and unwelcoming. The food was average, before I found the fingernail and it...ruined my whole meal/appetite. I would not recommend, especially if you don't want to spend an unreasonable amount of money on bland and unsanitary food.More

I just love this place. We have been coming here since it was Travs biker bar in the 60’s for chili. The staff are very kind and New Year’s Eve is really fun with the live country music. Salmon frequently, fish and chips good, most...everything works , the chef stumbles occasionally but kudos for sticking your neck out. Outdoors dining is really good in Covid era. Just a good place to decompress. Wish they ran GAA football in the bar. TboneMore

What always is a pleasant experience!! We were greeted by Frank and exchanged some pleasantries. Frank escorted us to a small room with a fireplace. We were the only two people eating in this small room. The waiter was so polite and knowledgeable of the...menu choices and recommendations. We selected the Shepard's pie. An enjoyable meal. They turned on the electric fireplace to add a nice touch in the room.More

Four of us went for dinner and we all ordered a different dish. Each of us was delighted with our meal. The service was perfect and the waiter offered excellent suggestions when asked. We had salmon, prime roast beef, chicken pot pie and corned beef...and cabbage. All were terrific as were the vegetables.More
