Tried the Manor about two years ago when it went under new owners. Not good then, but this review is about the Manor NOW. Covid-19 means take out, so we opted to try the Manor again.. Wife and I have tried almost everything on the...take-out menu, and most of the entrees were spot-on. Highlights: Crab stuffed red snapper...excellent! Crab soup...great! Sirloin steak...done EXACTLY as I ordered. Had a problem with an order of ribs, won’t go into that, because the manager went above and beyond taking care of the problem. The next order of ribs was flawless. Macaroni salad and baked beans that went with the ribs were wonderful. The chocolate layer cake and the italian creme cake were delicious, but if you are lucky you can get a slice of the banannas foster cake...!More

The Manor has been a local favorite for many years. It was closed for a while and now has new owners. The house is a historic place that goes back to the early 1900's. The new owners have a good chef and the specials are...very good. The steaks are above average and the prices are reasonable. The best attribute is the house and the people working there.More

If you are ever in the doldrums during the cold and gray Garrett County winters, lift your spirits and entertain your pallette with a good piece of beef cooked perfectly. The manY times refurbished Cornish Manner is open again with the best menue and food...of the past 4 attempts. Portion size is a bit light, but quality is top notch. Save room for desert and an after dinner drink, but bring lots of cash. But remember, you get what you paY for.More

The Manor Steakhouse boasts a rustic yet elegant atmosphere with cozy dimmed lighting and old school charm. The twinkling lights sparkling around us from the outdoor area, the colorful chandeliers and the wood winding staircase gives you a real *manor* feel and adds to the...charm of the overall decor. My fiance and I have been there twice now and we have been pleasantly surprised by the menu and quality of the food both times. The first visit was a steak night and I am personally very picky about how I like my steak cooked (rare! rare! rare!) And the chef did not disappoint: The steak was cooked to perfection. I mean it literally melted in my mouth. Ugh. I get hungry just thinking about it. :) The second visit we ordered Seafood as they had a special seafood menu. We got a HUGE portion of various types of crab legs, lobster, and shrimp-melted butter, champagne dressing and crisp green beans. (Which we chose to split because the portion was so generous) I am not exaggerating when I write i got a lobster claw filled with meat about the size of a golf ball! Maybe larger? It was delicious. Dispite the fancy ambiance and fine dine food...the service was very personable and authentic. Both our waitresses were eager to answer our questions regarding the food to wine pairings and the chef even came out to say hello! The manager remembered us from our first visit and made us feel incredibly welcome when we first came in and took the time to thank us for coming before we left. If you're going to spend the money and want the best "bang for your buck", delicious food and top notch service, I recommend trying this Manor out!More

We enjoyed a lovely evening at The Manor Steakhouse. The property was built as a private summer home for a Federal judge out of DC. It is quite beautiful especially if you appreciate architecture. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. She offered to bring us...a book about the history of the house when we asked questions. It was very interesting. She also offered to let us walk around upstairs so we could see the whole place. We did so after dinner. I was sorry we were there at night and couldn't see the grounds. As for the meal, they have a decent wine list. The cocktails were modestly priced and enjoyable. I had the scallops which were delicious. My husband had the chicken (salad) in a bread bowl. He was expecting a salad and did not understand it was more like a soup. So, he was a little surprised by what arrived but he said it was good. My scallops were delicious. They were served with flavorful mashed potatoes. It was not the fanciest or most inventive meal that I have ever had. But, it was definitely enjoyable, reasonably priced and in a beautiful old home that is definitely worth checking out.More

We had a disappointing lunch for our weekend trip . We had the hot turkey and hot roast beef . The server was terrible and served freezing cold meals and hour after we ordered . We didn’t have salt or pepper on the table ....We never saw the server . She didn’t tip off drinks nor did she know anything about the menu . I know the owners and am really surprised this person was hired for this type of establishment . The meat was tough and they called it prime rib ? Owners need to address this ! The weekend will be busy with people for the autumn glory and you don’t want this type of meal served .More

Wonderful ambiance and beautiful location tucked away in Oakland. From the time we stepped onto the beautiful covered porch, the service was exceptional. We entered as strangers and left feeling like friends. Jessica was there with a friendly greeting, and Caleb was just as friendly...and exceptionally attentive throughout our dinner. Our group had red snapper, crab cakes and the filet. Everything was very good. Highly recommend.More

Had been here before and had a very good dinner, not this time. Salad was excellent, but the clams provencal arrived cold and were served in a watery broth with tomato cubes. One clam had not opened and should have been removed in the kitchen....My red snapper was cooked well but was over-salted. My wife really enjoyed her scallops, but only got three. Server was very attentive.More
