Despite having a reservation, we waited 15+ minutes to be seated. Once seated, the service was slow. It appears that they do not have sufficient server staff and the food was not hot when delivered and the meal warm vice hot.

Dear Lockett, Thank you for taking the time to write. From the delayed seating to the neglectful service, it sounds like we completely let you down, and I cannot apologize enough. We try to run our restaurant like a well oiled machine, but we sometimes get stuck, as seating is not an exact science. That being said, the issue of... More

Six of us went to the Potomac branch of Founding Farmers as it was the choice of a friend for a birthday dinner. I had heard of this place of course as one of the only spots to earn 0 stars from the Washington Post critic yet had seen a lot of raves from other lay eaters; just how bad... More

I ASSURE you that this does not match our standards in the slightest. We read each comment and take all feedback very seriously. I'd love to know more specifics... More

The food is wonderful, but I don't go here as often as I would like, because it is so loud that it is difficult to have a conversation with the person I am sharing a table with. This is not a restaurant for anyone with hearing aids, and in fact my mother's comment, when she heard how loud it was and... More

Fresh, locally grown produce is a great attraction. There are numerous breakfast choices. The meats are very good-try the sausage and the bacon. French toast is great, as are the other bakery items. Fruit is fresh and juices are, as well. Very efficient and friendly staff.

This is a great place to bring people when you don't know what kinds of food they like. The menu has lots of variety and everything's good. They also have their own infused cocktails that are delicious. It is, however, noisy, especially on the main level.

A friend and I had a wonderful brunch here. Atmosphere was "busy" - a lot of people out for the same thing! We were led to the upstairs dining area. I had the Shrimp and Grits with sausage, a side salad, and a house-made soda: pineapple mint. The soda was delicious! The S&G were good - grits were creamy and... More

Had a birthday dinner there last night. The food choices were numerous and the quality excellent. My only two thoughts for improvement were to offer additional soft drinks, while not Coke or Pepsi, perhaps some high end brand. I like the hand crafted sodas and phosphates, but not everybody shares my likes. The other issue is that the place is... More

This place was highly recommended by a young person. If you don't want to yell to be heard, this is not the place for you or me (70). The food (pork and lentil stew OK), tomato soup (good) and mussels (OK) was decent. What surprised me was that only white bread (toasted, not freshly baked as claimed) was served with... More

We stopped in for Sunday Brunch. We waited for over an hour to get in. I wasn't really hungry so I ordered a "sweet potato" from the sides menu. I was really surprised when they brought out half a sweet potato, and a small one at that. The menu clearly offered a sweet potato, not a reduced portion or 1/2... More

What an awesome experience. Walked into this laid back environs with chill lounge beats on only to sit at and dine on fresh food that tasted like grandmom's cooking. Description
MoCo's Founding Farmers is owned by the more than 40,000 family farmers of the NDFU. serving American inspired real food and drink with an emphasis and focus on scratch-cooking. While our restaurant is supplied by hundreds of family farms everywhere, that doesn't mean we know every farm, and that doesn't mean we never have to buy product from the traditional (corporate) supply chain. However, it does mean that we are working hard to direct our purchasing dollars where it aligns with our values. We're serving the best food we can, made from scratch in our kitchens every day. Our innovative, American dishes are made primarily with pure ingredients honoring the farmers and their hard-earned bounty.
