What a pleasant getaway. An absolute gem with very good food and excellent service. I had no expectation of the menu, thinking it might just be like an english country inn but the food was well presented and the menu offered many options.

Had lunch with a friend today on the patio. Lovely outside patio with tables around a fountain, and shade provided by umbrellas and trees. I had an entree salad and she had BLT with salmon. Both were excellent. Service was excellent ... glasses were promptly...More

We had decided early in the evening we wanted to go to Old Angler's inn for 19 year wedding anniversary dinner, but had not made reservations. On our way to the restaurant made reservations for two at 9pm. We got there and they said the...More

Old Anglers Inn is the closest real food to the Great Falls Park. It is also on the upscale side, but they did not turn me away despite my sweaty and dirty hiking apparel, and there appeared to be other hikers there, too. If it...More

The outside patio at Old Anglers is great when weather permits and the food and wait service did not disappoint.

The attractions are the outdoor dining space and the low prices. My gazpacho was ordinary although my wife enjoyed hers. My pasta could have used more cream. I tried to add flavor with parmesan but still couldn't bring the dish to life. Had a great...More

Have been to the OAI at least half a dozen times over the past three years. The location is great if you're checking out the C&O or kayaking or hiking the Billy Goat Trail. All of the food that we've ordered has been good and...More

Great location. Not very great food. Slow service. Still good place to have a couple of drinks outdoor.

The outside dining (5:30pm) was delightful, the bread and dinner drink was very good. The pear salad was very good too. Other than that, the entree' took an extraordinary long time to be served and when it arrived both of our meals (hanging steak and...More

Going to Old Anglers Inn on a Monday night to celebrate college graduation with a party of 8 was just okay. It did make a difference when the manager was not there. Food was okay and service was slow considering there were few diners.

Description
A most charming dining spot, the Old Angler's Inn has been immortalized in countless Washington D.C. novels as a romantic winter getaway, sitting before the fireplace and perusing the menu. It is equally glorious in the summer when the main action moves to the incomparable terrace.
