Most fish stores and even the regular markets on the Cape have very fresh seafood. The real treat of this place is the afternoon return of fishing boats unloading their catch. The kids especially love it. It provides new insight into the fishing industry and respect for our seafood providers.

It is truly interesting to watch the fishing boats arrive and unload their catch. My 5 year old grandson was enthralled even after 1 hour he did not want to leave. However, do NOT purchase anything from the fish market at the pier --- it is over priced and the fish looks spoiled.

We stopped for lunch at the pier after reading it has one of the best Lobster rolls on the cape, and it occasionally has seals. We were not disappointed! My wife got the lobster roll which was huge (a little too big, if there is such a thing) and she loved it. I got fried shrimp, and they were succulent!... More

My husband and I stopped by the pier about 2 pm on a Wednesday afternoon. Since it was during the off season (mid-October) the actual market was not open. Only the observation deck. Parking is very limited. We had to parallel park on the street. There were already 4 boats unloading and two others arrived while we were there. It... More

We had some of the best chowder we've ever had here. It was so good we visited twice in one week. Nothing fancy, all takeout. Picnic tables nearby to enjoy when the weather was nice. Fun place to go to watch the fishing boats unload their catch and watch the seals waiting for their share.

So the fried seafood served here was good! The fish was a little bland for our taste but, over all decent food. Not really a dine in place. But... Totally worth it for the experience. While we were waiting for our food, a fishing boat came in. We were able to watch the fisherman unload his catch of the day.... More

After watching the arriving fishing boats with their morning catch you cannot miss a visit to the market shop. They offer the best of the daily catch and they have a limited selection of hot food to eat outside on benches. A truly local establishment. Limited opening hours even in the season; they are closed between October and May.

You have to eat here at least once when near Chatham. Food is fresh and very good, the atmosphere is....unique. You're right in a fish market with fish boats coming in and unloading lots and lots of fresh and often smelly fish. But the setting is so unique yo have to go here.

Went here because it was on our bucket list and had such a great! We got to see two boats unload their catches! Amazing to see a average fisherman town how they earn a honest living. There was also plenty of seals too! Of course because of the fishing boats they know where the goods are lol. It reminded us... More

We enjoyed watching the boats come unload and seeing the seals. It had been recommended to us that we also eat here so we looked for the restaurant; were a little surprised that it was simply a walk-up window with no actual seating area except for a couple of outdoor picnic tables. The food was excellent, however...very fresh and reasonable.... More
