Had a surprise birthday party for my aunt and the party was great. Had one of the best steak au poivres ever! They have a traditional salad bar and some terrific cuts of steak! Service was great and the environment is very nice. Traditional decor with a fireplace, nothing template-y at all. A very nice steak house, not too dressy... More

Like so many restaurants in the area, not terrible, but not worth traveling far for. Husband asked for steak med rare. Came almost black outside, bloody (not pink) inside. He said it was not trimmed well, either; don't know if that's a supplier or kitchen problem. Would have sent it back. but didn't want to inconvenience the folks we were... More

I hate to do this but by dinner bill was so large I had to say a word or two. Place smelled musty when we first walked in and our waiter hurried to light our candle to kill the smell. Salad bar was nice. As our plates started to come one by one our disappointment came over. My scallops were... More

My husband took me to what used to be my favorite restaurant for my birthday meal. We ordered filet mignon with baked potato and chicken with rice pilaf and each came with the salad bar. We filled our salad plates and just started to eat when the appetizer arrived. We set the salad aside and had the shared appetizer. We decided... More

First of all I have to say the servers were great and the salad bar was wonderful as usual. We were there to celebrate my 75th birthday as it's one of our favorite restaurants. The sirloin steak for two was so chewy and you could hardly cut it with the steak knife. It looked so delicious when served. This is... More

We enjoyed our meal and the service. Our first visit to Hardcover. I enjoyed filet mignon and had ordered it medium rare and it was perfect. My husband had baked stuffed shrimp and scallops and was completely satisfied. The salad bar was a surprise both because I haven't seen one in ages and it was so good. Very generous size... More

The food is still very good. They have a huge salad bar which comes with the meals. They also make excellent drinks. The place is always crowded so it can be very loud.

The first thing you notice at the Hard Cover is that I is pleasantly dim, comfortable and the shelves are filled with real books and all 4 of us enjoyed or meal very much. They have a wonderful salad bar to begin your meal with a variety of warm fresh breads and fixings for a fresh salad for you to... More

Classic steak house ambience. Busy, crowded Friday night but seated in a timely way. Wait staff attentive and helpful with specials. Three course/$20 special was terrific. 8oz beef with giant baked potato, came with salad bar and delightful apple crisp. 10oz sirloin was also delicious. Will definitely go back.

My wife and I dined on a slow Wednesday night. Restaurant is nice but dated. Front entry had an odd odor. We were seated at a nice table near the gas fireplace. The salad bar is very good. Wide selection of fresh veggies. I ordered grilled swordfish and my wife ordered baked scrod. The fish was fresh and well prepared.
