buy eat rave repeat. The bread is to die for, as are the cannolis. Lots of variety to choose from, too. Authentic home food

In my opinion this is the tastiest and most satisfying bread in town, even on the North Shore. It's crusty on the outside ,soft but not airy on the inside with just enough yeasts flavor. Supermarkets in Gloucester even carry it and if you go around 10:00 in the morning, you can get it when it's still warm. No preservatives,... More

I wish I could go here more often. I also wish it wasn't so worn out. Nice people but on a very busy crowded street.

My girlfriend and I were late getting into town for whale watching, and looking for a quick bite. We stumbled onto Sclafani's (literally - we were starving!) and wow, what an amazing sandwich. My friend had prosciutto with homemade mozzerella and I had turkey - both on great bread, and served big. Even so, I ate my whole sandwich! They... More

Been looking to stop in and pick up some bakery items. Boy they had a little of everything. Got a whole box of pastries with a loaf of bread.

We love Sclafani's. We never make a trip to Gloucester without at least one stop for their salami, cheese and AMAZING bread. This time we added some black olives -- so good, I can't wait to go back. See you in the summer.

The breads here are phenomenal and you just can't beat the deli sandwiches (for price and quantity). My usual is the large Italian sub with the works which normally takes two days to finish! The only drawback is finding parking since parking on this section of Washington Street is very limited.

Whenever I get to my hometown, Gloucester, I stock up on Italian bread to bring back to NC. You can freeze it and it will stay awhile, great for toast later! Personally my favorite place for Italian bread.

Sclafani's Bakery is a must visit for anyone coming to the Gloucester area. They sell the most delicious bread. Everyone raves about it, and you will be hooked once you taste it! I like to pop in once every few months and get one of their delicious sandwiches. I recommend calling in advance as the place is packed around lunchtime... More

Anytime I'm in downtown Gloucester, I stop by Sclafani's to pick up a loaf of Italian bread. It's always warm and smells so good I have to put it in the back seat of the car so it makes it home!
