For a few years we've gravitated to Allium on our annual trip to GB. They take reservations and are conveniently located. Yes we put up with lots of noise when seated on the bar side, and well meaning but harried wait staff, and the occasional table by the kitchen across from the bathroom. But the food is usually good. But... More

This is the only repeat restaurant visit we have each year we return to the Berkshires. The ambiance is fun and festive and the service is friendly and extremely competent. I've been with parties as big as 6 and as small as 2 and it's been wonderful at every level.

Service was great. Food very good. I would recommend the onion rings. the burger. fish taco and the NY strip. my wife had the mussels. She said they were ok but not exceptional.

Thus is my favorite restaurant in Gt. Barrington. The small plates allow you to sample several dishes and the fried red onion rings and fish tacos are favorites. Last night the tacos weren't nearly as good as usual which was disappointing. Consistency is important and it is not always there at Allium. The servers could be better trained to not... More

Allium has a simple, but delicious menu. One solid option- their hamburger. Another route- pick a few smaller portions and share. Kale salad really fresh! Easy, laid back atmosphere. More parking spaces around back.

Hen of the woods mushroom followed by kale salad and light battered fried chicken. Most amazing biscuit as was crunchy on outside and moist inside with wonderful flavors. Great wines as well. Fresh food and wonderful combinations.

We tried the Allium on a recent Saturday evening, our first time in this restaurant in downtown Great Barrington. Few patrons, perhaps too few for 6:00 PM on an early October weekend in the central Berkshire region. With no reservations, we were seated at a small table in the nearly empty dining area near the bar. We ordered drinks and... More

Allium was very busy on the night we ate there, midweek after Labor Day. The menu featured small plates and entrees but not very many of each, so we had a bit of trouble finding something that sounded good to us. The entree we chose was nicely done, oven-roasted trout, split and deboned and stuffed with lemon, which was served... More

This restaurant is a stone's throw from my folks' summer home and recently went to dinner with them and loved my experience. Food: The menu was pretty big with lots of seasonal and local items. It's the kind of menu where you want to order pretty much everything on the menu. I had a delightful tomato salad. My dad had... More

Having reviewed the menu beforehand, I came expecting to eat fish for dinner. There was one fish on the menu which at 7:30 I was informed they had no more. I then ordered a vegetable risotto which was rendered inedible because it was overly salty.
