Small place located on Route 1A, Ipswich beyond the Clam Box. Very little wait. Has take out, as well.

My wife and I stopped at the Ipswich Clambake after great visits several years ago. While this visit may not have equaled the past, we had an enjoyable and very good meal once again. The restaurant is small and seats about 20 diners with plain tables and chairs, all with adequate elbow room. Meals are ordered at a central counter... More
Excellent meals, fried or broiled fish, never 'greasy. Not fancy, just great, fresh seafood. Some seating indoors and, in warm weather, outdoors as well. Not crazy busy like other local seafood venues. You'll love their meals!
Stopped in for some clams and seafood.Nice and spacious with good service.Pleasant atmosphere without lot of noise compared to other places.Tartar sauce on tap is a nice touch.Chowder great too. The only thing that warranted 4 stars are the french fries.Need some attention.
We visited Ipswich Clambake yesterday for an early dinner. I wanted to take the family somewhere where they could get some fresh seafood and this looked like the place to go. Parking was easy though the place was pretty busy. Tables were both indoors and out. We ordered at the counter and sat indoors. Nothing great about the decor, either... More
I stopped here for lunch and was pleased with the high quality seafood served here. I had steamed clams and fried clams. I did ask them to be served separately, but they came out together. First off, great efficient counter service. We ordered 4 lobster rolls and one fish and chips plate. Fish and chips tasted good but only came with 3 small fish pieces. Lobster salad was not chilled to me. The taste was bland. And small portion for the price. Now down to price. Maybe because it is tourist season but over $21... More
Excellent Seafood, Restaurant. In the rough, atmosphere. We ate outside, in the parking area, where there are tables. We had chowder, Fisherman's Platter, with Cole slaw, onion rings and fries (3 sides), and a lobster roll with fries. Fresh everything.
Had the fried native clams, fresh oil in the cookers resulting in a great tasting fried clam. We also had the lobster roll that had great quality. the clam chowder was good.
