Absolutely the best clam strips on the East Coast! The place was buzzing and the orders kept flowing! Fantastic service, fresh tasting fried food (zero oil taste), small dining room so send someone to watch for a table while you order... but nothing would keep me from this place!

I've always enjoyed the Clam Box, but when I visited this past summer I was disappointed. I split the Fisherman's Platter with my father. In the past we've had enough to take the leftovers home with us, but this time it seemed overpriced for the amount and quality we received. As a lifelong resident and seafood fanatic, of course I'll... More

A pre 70th Birthday request for one of their - best anywhere - clam rolls. They never disappoint. I had the fried haddock plate (not a fried clam fan), and it was very, very good. It is self serve so I gave service as average. Pick an off time (lunch at 2:30P for example) and week day to avoid what... More

We so enjoy our trips along the coast, and a stop at the Clam Box is always a highlight. No grease, just yum!

This is a fun spot that has been a locals and tourists favorites for decades. We go primarily for the native clam plate that is heaped with the most succulent, tender and sweet clams that you will find on the North Shore. Fries are OK, onion rings are average -- the clams are SUPERB!

My wife and I stopped at the Icon Seafood Restaurant of Essex Count, The Clam Box, early in October. We ordered a large order of Clam Strips with fries, a burger with onion rings. The food was pretty good (I am not a seafood type), my wife enjoyed her meal, my burger was just OK, The onion rings could have... More

Had to try the whole belly clams! They were awesome! I had the mini plate with cole slaw. There were plenty of clams and the cole slaw is very good. The weather was perfect to eat at the picnic tables in the back.

Best clams you can get. If you never been here you must prepare yourself as you will wait in line. The wait is worth it as the oil is always fresh. People will sometimes bring small coolers with water as the wait can be almost an hour or more on hot days. Some people use umbrella's as well to shield... More
