Fantastic seafood way out in the Berkshires far from the sea- never mind the menu is great. I was enticed by the Tuesday lobster special which unfortunately was not available . Never mind, the whole belly clams made up for it!

This is a very low key place, with excellent waitstaff, and a strong basic seafood comfort food spot. Had Ahi Tuna and Baby Clams appetizers which was really well prepared and seasoned. The tuna additionally was well sliced. For dinner the pan seared scallops were...expertly sautéed - perfect texture. The baked haddock was also really well prepared. Good seafood in LeeMore
We were there on a busy Thursday evening - it seems the place was full of locals getting the special. We started with French onion soup and clam chowder. I got the impression neither of these were homemade. Flavor was average but there was so...much cheese on the French onion soup that it was impossible to get a spoon through it. While I appreciated that the soup wasn't overly salty, it also seemed "thin". The chowder was thick, but also tasted exactly like one particular brand from a can. Not a bad chowder, but when one dines at a seafood restaurant, one should expect something homemade with lots of chopped clams of varying sizes and potatoes that are perfectly cooked. Maybe I'm a chowder snob, but it didn't impress me. The entrees, however, were absolutely spot on. Ahi tuna cooked to perfection! The baked Cod Florentine was moist and seasoned appropriately. I definitively would try other entrees when visiting the area again, but no soup/chowder for me.More
Recommend by a friend and it did not disappoint! We chose a seafood platter and surf and turf, everything was delicious. My favorite was the baked stuffed shrimp. I had to fight the urge to lick my plate!
We heard good things about this restaurant and since my wife loves Salmon decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint and was very enjoyable. It was jam-packed for a Tuesday night because they had a special offering a whole lobster for $25....We made a reservation for 7:30pm and the lobster special was sold out by the time we arrived. We had a half dozen of their raw oysters which were from Wellfleet. They were delicious. I also had a bowl of their lobster bisque which also was very tasty and included many good pieces of lobster meat. My wife had their Spinach Pear Salad with Grilled Lemon Butter Salmon on top. She loved it. I had their lazy man lobster and it was very good. There are so many varying items on their menu we wished we had room to try more. This is a great place and we highly recommend it to everyone.More
Owner is so rude with anger issues Everything was over cooked and small portions calm chowder was potato soup don’t waste your time or money
I made reservations several weeks prior to our visit. When we arrived we were seated at a table for four in the room next to the bar area. I sat down and immediately felt cold air blowing on me. I asked the waitress if she...could turn down the ceiling a/c unit. She could not. I asked for the manager and was told the owner was there. Perfect! Not so, she would not turn down the fan, nor would she give us another table away from the unit. there were two tables available! There was a booth set for six- she only sat two there, another table I asked for was given to another group of four. She gave me some excuse about timing....... which made no sense. Fortunately, the food was very good, otherwise I wouldn't come back. When I do, I'll be sure to stipulate the table I would prefer!!More
A large group of us stopped here for lunch before going to a performance at Jacob's Pillow. Eight out of nine of us (from the capital region of New York; Syracuse, NY; & California) really enjoyed our meals. One woman thought there was too much...cheese in her baked stuffed mushroom caps, although the menu did describe the appetizer as containing aged Vermont cheddar cheese. As some of us ordered either appetizers, salads, sandwiches, & entrees, it was a good sampling of what the restaurant offers. The star of our lunches was the FISH they served - tasty! Since the Salmon Run Fish House has been open since Nov., 1999, they obviously are doing something right. I took off 1/2 a star, as they wouldn't let us have separate checks. Although our waitress told us we could could use up to 4 credit cards to pay our bill, eight of us ended up giving cash to one woman who paid with her credit card Interesting experience, as you can imagine, to have 9 diners calculate what they owed on the one total bill... Lastly, heads up that if you're a larger party, I suggest you make reservations. We did & had a table ready for us when we arrived. Another large group of folks, who arrived when we did & hadn't called ahead, had to split up into smaller booths.More
The Run is our perennial go-to restaurant in the Berkshires. The salmon is always fresh, and you can get it prepared in a variety of ways: blackened, Cajun. Maple glaze, etc. We've tried most of them and they're all very good. Since we dine there...several times during our stay, we usually mix it up with Lobster Roll.on one of the other nights. This time, we were disappointed --- there was not a lot of lobster on the roll, and the price was . . . ( wait for it) . . . $32! To thing worse, the price was not listed on the menu and . . .our server did not warn us when we gave her the order. We were stunned when got the bill. As I said, disappointed!!More
We sat outside and waited about 30 minutes for our food. Unfortunately it started to rain and we could not get the food faster. They kept taking more customers in and saying they were too busy to rush our food.
Hard to believe it had been 5 years since we were last here. But our Sunday dinner was ideal for meeting cousins with a variety of tastes, including one who won't touch seafood and a 13 year old who can be charming and exasperating at...the same time. Hats off to a very fine and diplomatic waitress that kept everyone content and cared for. This truly is a "family" restaurant, both family owned and catering to families, informal, un-fancy, but quality driven. Everyone enjoyed their meals, from scallops, salmon, whole belly clams, pasta and steak. The booths are a bit cramped, but afford privacy and comfort. The prices are fair and there is ample variety. Wil keep them on the recommended list.More
Lobster 🦞 rolls were delicious! We're coming back to try more items on the menu! Service was great
Was in Lee overnight on our way home to Ontario and found this place for dinner. I’m so glad we stopped at Salmon Run - truly a great experience. The ambiance was charming, the waitstaff very friendly, fast, and efficient, and the food excellent. My...dad said he has the best burger he’s had in a long time and I had the seared ahi tuna tacos and they were so delicious and fresh. Fries were hand cut and nice and crisp and the coleslaw was also good.More
My wife and I decided to take the day and visit Lee, Ma. And the outlets. We decided to start at the Yankee Candle store in Lenox, and work our way back. Anyhow, my wife was paying attention to everything, so while coming back from...Yankee she suggested this place for lunch. (It caught her eye before) we entered and the ambiance is real nice and we were seated immediately. The menu has a great deal of options but we focused on fish, with the hope the restaurant was really focused on sea food. We started with the Coconut Shrimp and it did not disappoint. My wife ordered a salad with salmon and I went for the Ahi Tuna Tacos. The meals arrived and good portions were given, my wife's piece of fish was very large. She was more than satisfied with here salad, and the fish was great. (Her words) as for the Tacos, the fries were house cut and very good, and the cold slaw on the side was perfect. The tacos were presented well, but the combination was awsome. The fish was sushi grade and encrusted. The sauces were perfect along with the slaw inside and peppers. Overall a great meal and next time we are in the area, we will stop.More
