The place is small and friendly. Reminded us of a old pub in London, UK. Very picturesque. The service was nice and the waitress gave us good advices. The portions are plentiful, but the food was a little too greasy for our tastes.

This place has the great views, patio sitting, and the atmosphere. The servers were fun, fast, and friendly. The beer was cold. The fried oysters...oh, yum! My steak and stuffed shrimp were/was one of the best meals I had in Marblehead! A great place all...More

On our trip to the Northeast we had occasion to try clam chowders at several restaurants in many towns. The Barnacles was the best, plenty of clams and not that many potatoes.

Hands down the best steamed clams I've ever had. Fried clams and French fries were okay, not special. Friendly service. Generous pours from the bar. A (narrow) deck for outdoor dining.

This may be picky. But, we have always loved the Barnacle, in Marblehead. We first dined here in 1992. On a return visit in 2005, we arrived mid-afternoon, and just weren't ready to eat. But, we loved its location. So, on this trip, we made...More

Incredibly, I had both the worst margarita of my life and the worst lobster (who knew there was such a thing?) of my life on my one and only visit (August 21st) to this establishment. I was treating an old friend, a local, to dinner....More
