The Plate was recommended to me as a good place for a sandwich or salad during a recent visit to Milton Academy. The restaurant is spacious, clean, with extremely friendly and enthusiastic staff. Counter service, great selection of coffee, tea, and espresso drinks and reasonably priced smoothies. Sunday brunch menu until 2:00 pm includes Bloody Marys, paninis, egg sandwiches, and... More

We recently had a wonderful lunch, coffee, and dessert at the East Milton location (upstairs from The Fruit Center) and thought it was outstanding. Our sandwiches (eggplant, red pepper, arugula, and feta; also, fresh roasted turkey) were terrific -- delicious ingredients on much-better-than-average roll (eggplant) and bread (turkey). The coffee also was outstanding here -- more full bodied and flavorful... More

Very happy to have The Plate in Milton. Wonderful place and good food. Great place to take a break, sit outside and watch the world (at least the Milton world :-) ) go by

There are two Plate locations in Milton: The Village at the corner of Elliott and Central and one in the East Milton Market complex. I have only been to the former. This is our goto place, especially when guests come over. They have a good variety of interesting sandwiches and sides.

We had another amazing meal at the Plate at the Milton Marketplace. Their daily specials are really special. And don't forget to get a "chub".

The food at The Plate is very good. You can meet there for business or social and not be bothered. But the whole ambiance seems to be trying to introduce a style that just doesn't fit the neighborhood. I'm not sure what to call it -- Fast-food New York style? Gen X? I was given a gift certificate to the... More

This is the best little spot in Milton. I live not to far from here and my experience is always amazing. The food is delicious, and I always get the egg sandwich with bacon, or the grilled cheese sandwich, with a chocolate chip cookie and a Thatcher Farms Chocolate Milk. Their menu is always changing and growing and the meals... More

I met a business colleague from out of town for lunch - she brings up how good it was each time we speak. The Plate has two locations in Milton - Bassett St and Central Ave. Bassett St has a crisp atmosphere that's good for business, friends or family - and a good amount of seating (not so much indoor... The food is fresh, original, and healthy; the employees are super nice; and the customers are too. Best spot to sit outside in Milton on a sunny day. Well worth it to make this your lunch destination for a family bike ride from anywhere in Milton, Dorchester, or Quincy. (The rail-to-trail path that goes all the way to Pope John... More

The breakfast sandwich, unfortunately only available before 11 during the week, is the best I've tasted. Homemade English muffin with a fried egg, roasted tomato, arugula, and aioli. Delicious. It's probably a good thing that I can never remember that it's not available for lunch. Coffee is good and dark. The sweets are always tasty. The cinnamon-sugar chubs are perfect.
