Large selection of plates and combos with abundant portions. Great for just apps and drinks or full meals. Centrally located in Downtown Newburport with 3 levels of dining inside and outside tables seasonally. Hiint if you are having a full meal do not ordered a full order of loaded nachos, it is a meal in itself

My boyfriend and I came here for the very first time (we're from out of state), the food choices were not plentiful, and although it was decent food, it wasn't the best Mexican food ever. But the vibe, super nice staff and décor would bring us here again. Drinks were very good and bartender was quite knowledgeable and made some... More

Agave is a Mexican restaurant on State Street in Newburyport which is the main street of town. One can eat Alfresco in the summer and watch the town of Newburyport come alive with activity. They do have wonderful tortillas quesadillas and a host of excellent drinks. They have the best margaritas in town. They also have a wonderful dish called... More

Northern new England is not known for great Mexican food, so I was surprised by the delicious chicken soup I had one recent cold windy day. Tasted homemade. The grilled romaine salad was nicely grilled, thoughtfully split in 2 by Jon, the server.

had dinner here on a Saturday night with 6 friends. The Margaritas are very large and good. The best part was the warm tortiall chips and salsa for $2 for the table. The food was OK. The reason for the 3-star review is the sauce on the balckened tuna was so spicy that we could not taste the fish. The... More

Two overly sweet margaritas, one salad, and three tacos later i'm $52 poorer (without tip) and wistfully thinking about the stuffed mushrooms I made for my husband's dinner. Should have stayed home. The salad was ok, but the tacos my companion ordered were not great. It doesn't make any sense to me, mexican american is not that hard. And would... More

It's good...drinks are small...warm chips prior to dinner are a plus, but the last two times I have been there the rice is very dry and the food is under seasoned, thus average. It is a visually pretty place especially the third floor bar, but maybe we will give it another try.

My wife thinks the place is OK, but I have bad food 4 out of the last 5 times. If the burritos are made fresh, then why does it come cold on the inside on a very hot plate? I do not believe they are fresh, but rather out of the fridge and microwaved. There also is VERY LITTLE SAUCE... More

I mostly outraged with their pricing and the fact that the pricing doesn't qualify for the quality of food. The food is over salted and seasoned than crafting nice authentic dishes. So for one couple, $50 for one entree meal, one burrito, chips and salsa. A bit daunting if you ask me. Last I recall, burritos range from 7-10 dollars,... More

The food is delicious and my drink was pretty strong. They don't skimp on anything. The fundido dip was awesome. It has melted cheese and chorizo sausage. Unbelievable appetizers. this year we skipped dinner and had some appetizers. Delish!
