We were seated promptly though a busy time. The restaurant is modern. I had a lobster bake and cannot say it met my expectations for taste, I learned I am not a lobster fan, particularly when not served piping hot. (Ours were warm at best) There are much better options on the menu and I will make a different selection... More

I eat lunch here about once a week. At the bar. Mostly dependable. Mediterranean salmon is a best bet. Delicious. Well prepared.

Nice place, nice environment, good service but the food is not so good. My favorite dinner here is: their hot bread and butter, clam chowder and prosecco. When you try other plate you can be disappointed. Antipasto Mussels: small and with no flavor As Entree a big plate of fried sea food: too dark (oil used too much) and sea... More

Enjoyed crab cakes for lunch on a surprisingly busy Monday afternoon. As always the cakes were all meat, with no filling, and came with a fresh and tasty salad with their wonderful dressing. French fries cake out piping hot and crisp and coleslaw had a tangy and lite dressing. Service was prompt with water refilled without asking and request for... More

My experience this time was poor. Server really took no interest in the table.the order that came to the table was wrong , they came to correct the issue and it never arrive until everyone was finished with their meal. They offered the typical free desserts and even those were not very good. I had seafood casserole which was sooooo... More

I used to go to the original in Cambridge in the early 70's but haven't been to one lately. Came for lunch after 1400 and the place was not very busy. Seated and greeted we ordered and it took almost 40's for lunch to arrive. During this time not only did the server not return to our table, but the... More

This place may be a bit expensive, but it's so worth it. We've been here plenty of times and have ordered almost everything in their menu. They serve everything fresh. Of course, the clam chowder is to die for. I love this location because you can shop around the area too.

Went on a Thursday, table available for 6. We had 2 Lobster Rolls, Crab Cakes, Seafood Casserole, Shrimp with Pasta and a Shrimp/Crab Cake combo. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We were given plenty of time to chat, enjoy our Salads and chowders and then our entrees. Prices are about 15-20% higher than comparable, less known establishments up and down the... More

Description
The signature dish at Legal Sea Foods – really fresh fish. One of our first restaurants and still a popular lure, we are located on Route 9 in the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center. We are still keeping things fresh at our bar, our open dining room and in our take-out counter and Fish Market. Legal Sea Foods has long proven that a consistent, high quality dining experience never goes out of style. With over 40 varieties of fresh fish and shellfish available throughout the year as well as an award-winning wine list, there’s no doubt why legions of fans have fallen hook, line and sinker. We’ve received a boatload of accolades including “Most Popular Boston Restaurant” (Zagat, 2012/2013), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Improper Bostonian, 2010), “Best Chowder” (Boston Magazine, 2010), “Best Seafood Restaurant” (Boston Phoenix, 2009) and the honor of serving our legendary New England Clam Chowder at every presidential inauguration since 1981.
