My husband and I first discovered Cafe St Petersburg when it was in a small storefront in Brookline. While some of the charm was lost when the restaurant moved to Newton, the menu and staff have largely remained the same. We've taken both family and friends here and everyone ends up coming back! The house vodka is not to be... More

For the last month we ate here twice, once a lunch and once for just a quick bite at the dinner time (we attended one of the concerts at the restaurant). Both times the food was delicious and well presented, waiters were professional and friendly and fantastic bar and beautiful paintings created worm and lovely ambience. However, for "the Russian... The food was great, the waiters are nice and helpfull. The place could improve the atmosphere, the place seems a little run down. Overall the food is good, and a nice evening out.

These dishonest liars charged me twice for a tip, promised to credit back, however, never credited or called back. Very disappointing. Plus, the food is below average.

My parents and I were very excited to try this restaurant. But when we got there at 6pm on a Friday, we were told that they were having a private function, and that we could come back in an hour when it was over. There really should have been a notice about this on their website (which we checked) or... More

Arrived early for weekday lunch, empty, attentive service. We brought our kids, aged 5&8, who loved pelmeni (had to order more). We had very nice cucumber salad, best thing was the wild mushroom soup. Also good stuffed cabbage. Chocolate potato was a huge hit with everyone, blintzes also good. Very reasonable prices after downtown Boston. Turkish coffee spot on, good... More

What a pleasant trip! I took my first-year students who are taking Russian to lunch. We made a reservation and arrived 30 minutes earlier. We came from New Hampshire. Kristina (chef) welcomed us and accommodate us nicely. Sergey was our waiter who did a marvelous job! My students wanted to speak Russian and order their meals in Russian, and it... More

I went here with a Russian friend and would otherwise have had no idea what to order or what was going on. It seems to cater to large groups and clearly has a strong following among Russian transplants.

The portions were extremely small and the service was delivered was an attitude. I think the server thought that woman weren't a good bet as she paid little to no attention to us aside from serving the meal.

I don't know if someone who has never been to Russia can really understand what's going on when they enter this place. It's like being transported. The decor, the staff, the karaoke birthday party in the next room...it feels like Russia. I recommend you give it a shot. I love it, but I spent time in former Soviet countries, so... More
