We had not eaten here in a couple of years. We like it very much in the early season. The dining room is cozy and in the spring is comfortable. Done in wood it is a change from that which is nouveau. It was not busy which was a plus for our dining. We arrived early and sat in the... More

This place used to be pretty good. Over the past few year I feel they have just given up. Bad food and bad services. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It's a shame.

Dined last Fri. Young man who waited on us was very nice and accommodating. The prime rib was delicious. The tuna was terrible. Asked for it rare and it came well. Rather fishy tasting. Don't think it was real fresh. We were there night before closing for season. Maybe that had something to do with it, but it certainly was... More

The cozy atmosphere of an olde inn but actually can accomodate many diners in more than one dining room. It seems to be a favorite of locals which is always a good recommendation for quality. Early bird specials are an excellent value but the regular menu is also reasonably priced and offers a large variety. It is a place we... More

A lot of food. Very good carrot cake! Service was a little iffy, like they were short staffed. Low ceilings, cape atmosphere. A very good meal. Will return when in area.

We had dinner at the Whitman House on the 19th. There were five of us. This is a place we come once a year (annual visit to P'town)--for the warm and friendly ambiance, good food, and friendly service.

We stopped in to find a place to eat a decent meal. Wanted seafood and beef, they had a 24.95 prime rib special with included soup, salad, meal and dessert. Great meal, we ordered two medium rare but it came with one med rare and one well done. We didn't want it but the chef came out and found one... More

We discovered that the Whitman House can be a real bargain by using the charming tavern room for a delightful dining experience. Their swordfish dinner was delicious and affordable, so we returned for a second evening meal. Happy hour menu offers specials also, and you can avoid crowds.

I had the same issue as someone else. We ate on the tavern side one trip and had a good meal, fun time. This trip we were told there wasn't room in the tavern and were seated in the restaurant. Why in the world don't they have the same menus or why wouldn't they have an extended menu in the... More
