Regardless of whether I sit at the bar or at a table, the servers at Thirsty Scholar always make me feel at home. They are knowledgeable and friendly and serve in a comfortable time frame, never making me feel rushed. The beer selection is bountiful and the food is pub-traditional and hearty while being unpretentious. It's hard to find such... More

I have been going to the Thirsty Scholar for over 3 years. It has a warm inviting atmosphere, extensive list of beers on tap and an excellent food menu that spans from bar food (the Nachos are amazing!) to real meals and big salads. They do it all right with fresh ingredients. I have not been disappointed with any of... More

We stopped in for a late lunch after a tough morning. My coworker got the mac and cheese with bacon while I went for a burger and fries. The fries were a-ma-zing. So glad that I listed to the waitress and got the curry sauce. Next time I will just get two orders of curry fries.

After brief movie stardom this bar with food is rightfully now a neighborhood way off campus hangout. The food itself was not very memorable as I can't remember what I ordered less than a week ago. The draft IPA was excellent, but had no local component. Service was friendly and efficient. Convenient to walking from Somerville or Cambridge, with little... More

We ordered takeaway from here for dinner tonight. I had a Caprese panini with French fries. My husband had the bbq meatloaf special with a side salad. Mine was delicious and he said his was good but the meatloaf was a little weak. We would definitely go back!

Nice neighborhood bar. The drinks are good and cheap. You can come for brunch as well, although I found the food average. My friend swears by their nachos.

What a great night! They have a pub quiz every Sunday night at 8 pm. We felt so welcome. Service is relaxed and easy going. Our bartender was super nice. We met a local bostonian at the bar who joined our team for the quiz. Probably our best night out in Boston. Highly recommended. Ps. the chicken tenders with raunch... More

Fiery mussels were absolutely the best I've had. Fresh and tender mussels serviced in a fiery hot sauce with plenty of toast to soak up the sauce. Enjoyed nice cold beer with them. It was very quiet Sunday afternoon so I can speak for the atmosphere. Service was great though. I'll definitely go again.

Great atmosphere where you are comfortable as soon as you walk through the door. Really good pub food - have had the Cubano and the fish and chips and both were outstanding.

There's a good variety of well-kept beer at this bar. Food is available and looked good (I didn't try any, but diners around my party seemed happy). This bar was a location for the film "The Social Network", and the table the characters used is labeled if you feel like being geeky and looking for it.
