The food was very good, inventive and prepared well, and the service was friendly and efficient. We have been here about 5 times and there might have been a slight improvement in food and service lately, but it has always been good.

We had stopped going to the Cottage because we had found the food prep to have gone downhill. Our last two visits have been much better. Menu has improved, as has the service.

I love fish tacos, and really enjoyed the Cottage version. Nice glass of wine, good bread, good service, nice atmosphere. All around a pleasant experience!

For an expensive restaurant, The Cottage is usually overrun by screaming children - so don't go here for a romantic date. I find the drinks interesting and generally quite good, but the food has been inconsistent. It's pricey, and while the portions are big, the flavor doesn't live up to the presentation. I also had trouble during my last visit... More

The Cottage is a very nice space with a bar area, popular with solo diners. You must order food with your glass of wine or Cosmo, it is a law in Wellesley. That is fine, because the menu is mouth watering deliciousI love the semi boneless roasted Chicken with mashed potatoes . Sometimes you wonder if the chef left town, though. Most of... More

I had a business lunch at The Cottage in Wellesley. I've been there before and also to the one they have in La Jolla CA which is actually in a cottage. We were seated quickly and served quickly. I had the shrimp and corn chowder. A bowl. Fabulous.

The Cottage in Wellesley sprung up where the old lumberyard used to be. Given the extensive remodeling gone to the contemporary airy venue with high ceilings, it is amazing that no attention was paid to the acoustics. The restaurant amplifies loud patrons' voices making it almost impossible to have a business conversation at a table. Kale salad with roasted beets... More

Pleasant atmosphere; restaurant was half empty at 10:30 Sunday AM so at least we were able to converse and service was pretty prompt. Fries on the side of the main dishes were obviously plated in advance as they were barely warm. Other than that the food was good.

We thoroughly enjoyed The Cottage. We had a sampling of several appetizers to share-calamari, crab cakes, and fish tacos. Everything was quite tasty! Service was very good too. We will definitely go again.

The Cottage Wellesley has it’s origin in two different lifestyles. John grew up surfing the beaches of Southern California. Laura grew up in Wellesley and is the third generation in her family to have a business in town. Our decor, service and food reflect the casualness and familiarity of So Calif and the sophistication and warmth of New England. Please take a moment to say hello on your next visit. Welcome to the Cottage! — John + Laura
