My group of 7 had a variety of fish, steak, appetizers, drinks, and deserts. While the meals were generally flavorful, all 7 entrees arrived lukewarm or cold. We were on the porch near an extremely noisy group that just would not stop screaming. Neither the waiter nor maitre d' did anything to quell the noise; just a smile and shoulder... More

The menu has lost some old favorites over the last month (new chef?), and that's too bad. We went the other night and while the folks who ordered the burger were very happy (though there were far fewer greens than there used to be), those who ordered some of the new things were decidedly not happy with the presentations or... Having been to State Road for many delicious meals over the last four years, I was sincerely disappointed by our recent dinner there on a Saturday night. The portions were skimpy and the quality of the food was definitely sub par. My thin slice of pate was served on a large plate with just a dab of mustard, a few... More

I wish the new chef all the best but please don't take favorites off the menu. No more jalapeño grits at Sunday brunch, no more patty melt on burger night, no more ricotta in its usual way other nights. Not necessary to take the faves away. I hate to see what is so good disappear even if you make other... More

Glad I finally got a chance to have dinner here, having heard so much about it. The interior is very interesting, though I found it very noisy and very dark. The food was very good and very fresh. Had a burger and shared a salad. However, it found it overall a bit over priced for what we received. The service... More

We just finished brunch here. My wife and I are foodies and this is a destination restaurant. Today's hash was made with duck so my wife was certain to order it and loved it. I had the lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberries which were perfectly cooked if you can judge that for pancakes. I also had the Brie sourdough melt... More

We have eaten there many times over the years, and it's always delightful even if the acoustics are a bit trying. Ate there twice this past month. A good, varying, and changing menu coupled with a pleasant staff - friendly and polite. Always a favorite.

This fabled restaurant offers an eclectic menu of locally sourced food and gets rave reviews from everyone on Martha's vineyard in answer to the question, "Where shall we make reservations?" However, whoever designed their lighting has never actually sat down and eaten under the pretentious and inelegant lights they designed. Dull and dim. I loved the food and hated the... More

Great quality good , excellently prepared. Good menu selection. Pride themselves on buying local. Herbs are grown in their gardens on the premises! Kudos to Chef Jack for quality , presentation and uniqueness of the meals.

A bit of a drive from Edgartown, about 20 minutes, but once you arrive it's a beautiful setting. A tavern feel of rustic stone and wood. Very welcoming. Menu is limited. Tomato and fennel soup app very good. Tuna special app was not well executed. Main courses were fish and a ribeye. Good not great. Service was efficient and a bit forced.
