Year after year we keep going back to the Villager Pub. It has good, solid bar food plus really good Whitefish fresh from John Cross Fisheries. Off season features inexpensive daily specials that provide a good bang for the buck. During the summer, it can get crowded.

You can count on a great meal every visit. Too many places are great one time and disappointing on other visits. Villager is a good meal every time, Love the burgers, nachos, and turkey reuben. I am not a big fish eater but everyone raves over the fish. Walleye, perch, and cod are the fish of choice. Prices are pretty... More

Great summertime gathering place for beer and a burger. If you are there for dinner, they are known for their whitefish and fries. Not fancy but a great fallback place to eat or hang out!

Wish it was a wonderful place. It's close to our place, but we just never get a good meal here. I have sent the fish back; I couldnt eat it. It was so fishy and not fresh. People have told me to only order it in the summer when it's busy. I stick with the beef burito if we end... More

Every experiences like eating with friends. Staff is great. Food consistently good. Friendly and professional at the same time. Go early to avoid crowds on weekend. In the summer, packed with tourists. Part time resident.

Went based on Trip Advisor reviews and wish we hadn't. Draft beer - not good - admittedly something was amiss with their system. Fish (white, walleye, and cod) was subpar. Wet burrito subpar. Waitress was nice enough.

Came here on a Friday for the fish and chips. I liked the coleslaw and fries and I thought the fish was pretty good. My husband didn't like the fish... thought it might be the oil it was fried in. Cozy atmosphere .. went around 4pm. Service was quick. Good price on our meal. I'd like to go back and... More

Initial impression: classy pub just across from the harbor in downtown Charlevoix, close to everything. Atmosphere: we went for lunch, so I can't speak to the evening atmosphere, but it was quiet and nearly empty on a Friday in the early afternoon. Lots of beer decor and vintage car and boat knick knacks. A cozy feel overall. Service: waitress was... More

The Villager is a friendly, throwback type of pub with excellent fish. Walleye, cod or whitefish, it's all excellent and comforting in cold weather and warm. Locals and tourists alike hang out here, and it's become a favorite of mine when in northern Michigan.
