I loathe El Az. the staff are always overworked and inattentive, food is overpriced, and almost everything is made in the microwave. Their cheese dip is good, but is like everything else overpriced. Since it's mostly cottage cheese and one of the freshest things in the place, it's especially galling. The Topopo Salad is one exception as it is pretty... More

I'd give it only a three, but Nick our server, was awesome on the busiest day of the year and our party of eight. Premium margaritas are a rip off but the food is above average. Come for the drinks, stay for the Migas!

The rooftop outdoor seating is wonderful and a great spot to people watch. The service is good, not great and the food average. Overall a fun stop for drinks.

Good food, good service. I like the upstairs patio when weather is nice. I have been here many times over the years. The food is consistent.

Since the first month I moved to East Lansing 19 years ago, this has been a favorite place for us to get together with friends! We usually start off the year here when they open the roof during the East Lansing Art Fair in May with our traditional Ritas On The Roof. All our friends who are available come up... More

El Az is an East Lansing classic and tradition! Too bad the patio isn't open! Great margarita's and Mexican food in the heart of downtown. A favorite with students, locals and visitors!

El Azteco has changed a lot since I was in college, but it is THE place to go for Mexican food around East Lansing. No longer found in a drab, scary basement, the best of El Azteco is outdoors, on the deck (weather permitting of course--which is not often!) enjoying a drink celebrating the game or a reunion with other... I know the reviews are spotty for El Azteco, which I don't understand. We love it! Every time we are in East Lansing we make a point to stop here. The chips and salsa are amazing. The margaritas are also great! The blue corn tortilla enchiladas are awesome too. Of the countless times we have dined here, we have never... More

El Azteco is always on our menu of places to eat, The food is good, portions are generous and the roof seating is always pleasant (weather permiting). Eating inside is a bit noisy, but that is the nature of the building.

Visited El Azteco for dinner last Monday to take my son out. Manic Monday $3 margarita specials and tacos that did not disappoint. Server recommended appetizer size guacamole instead of each of us ordering a side which was a nice $6 cost savings. So we had another round of margaritas. Delicious food served quickly, especially enjoyed free hot chips and... More
