By chance and therefore without reservation we went to this restaurant, and we are delighted! Formula at 22€. From start to finish everything is good: an exceptional red bean velouté, followed by a salmon escalope with a perfect candied lemon sauce, a dessert that we didn't know about, the banofee (speculoos base with salted butter, banana, whipped cream and chocolate sauce) a killer!! Then a coffee served with a little hazelnut financier, all homemade of course and served by the very friendly owner...so go there with your eyes closed, you won't regret it

Before leaving to demonstrate, I found a plate with very fine and balanced tastes, perfect cooking of the fish. An excellent eclectic musical atmosphere at a perfect sound level. A friendly and dynamic service. The only downside is that the wine by the glass is average, as is the coffee. Don't hesitate, it's a good address. Meal break on the road to vacation. Without reservation, very well received. 2 menu choices, fully meeting our expectations. A very careful presentation of the dishes, supplemented by the server's explanations. Small but very efficient team. The establishment is worth the detour.

While passing through on our holiday route we stopped quite by chance. Good for us! Delicious home cooking, from starter to dessert, beautifully presented. Very reasonable value for money and service full of humor. I recommend !

This bastide town of Damazan, which has some beautiful houses, deserves a serious effort to make it a must-see site in Lot et Garonne. There is really potential.... In terms of catering it is quite suitable. Friendly welcome, original and pleasant accommodations, well presented dishes. You can visit this place without making a mistake. Go for it !!

A small restaurant run by a husband and wife. The food is always excellent . There is a menu du jour and also a la carte so a variety of food is available. The price of the food is good value for money.

We stumbled across this restaurant at lunch on a holiday Monday. Happily it was open. Mostly I think the tables were reserved but after fifteen minutes wait we were shown to a table. This is a husband and wife operation so the meal takes time if busy. We were thrilled with the service and excellent food. The server spoke Englush (husband) and was quite personable. The chef ( wife) provided excellent food nicely presented. We left very satisfied and satiated.

Riding along the canals and stopped in Damazan on a Sunday night. The hotel restaurant was closed and we asked for a reference to a good restaurant. Was told this one. Arrived at the restaurant and was immediately warmly greeted and shown to a table. Water and menu quickly produced. Decided on the 3 course meal for 17 Euros. Magnificent food and only 8 Euros for a litre of nice wine. Service was friendly and efficient. Each dish that we were served we oohed and aahed over. Presentation was spectacular and taste was really, really good. I can recommend this restaurant, I am sorry that we are here for only one night.

As we where biking along canal du midi we made a reservation for lunch by phone . The owner saw us coming and asked to come back in 10 min. As we came back, we took place on a the shaded terrace with about 20 seats and one other costumer. By than other people where taking place. And for some strange reason the owner ignored us completely. And kept on welcoming other guests. When we finally asked for the menu, the owner started shouting very unfriendly words. And apparently he thinks al foreign tourist ( especially Belgians) have no, as he said “ savoir-vivre”. We left this unfriendly place. Knowing that this is not the normal way for french people to receive costumers. We had lunch 500 meter further. And enjoined both the food and the hospitality. And to the owner... if you want to survive, treat all costumers in a friendly manner!

Excellent restaurant in the main square. 2 choices for menu of the day when we were there- beef stroganoff or fish with a lemon-orange sauce. Mango Mousse for dessert. Everything cooked perfectly. Friendly owners though relaxed service. Small but varied wine selection. Some offerings a la carte as well. Very pretty view. Would definitely recommend.

We were on a canal holiday and got our distances and timings wrong. On the last night instead of going back to base we moored up in Damazan.
What a beautiful village. Had a meal at the restaurant Les Arcades in the village square and what a meal it was! Not a big menu but the food we ordered was amazing.The service was great and when we got the bill...I thought they had under charged us.....but there was no mistake.
Well worth a visit, contrary to what the French Waterway book says about Damazan.

From the outside it looks modern and very appealing. Traditional French cuisine and very reasonable price and an evening set menu of 14€ is unbeatable value. Cheffy presentation and delicious well thought out menu, introducing new tastes and combinations was unexpected and the whole experience felt like a real treat. Worth booking ahead as they are always busy.
