Came to visit my elderly mum who I've not been able to see due to lockdown for 10 months. Took her here for a meal with my wife and I can't praise the food, service and ales enough. Very friendly and definitely worth a visit

We have been to this restaurant about 6 times for special occasions and always been happy. The improvement for us this time was that we received menus. In the past you had to stand near the bar and choose from the blackboard which we didn't...like. The food as always was delicious, best fillet steak anywhere.More

it was the second time we have been to the Bakers Arms in about 5 weeks last time a Friday night, both meals were excellent the service is friendly and very efficient, and you feel safe with all the covid measures in place. The food...was very good on both occasions on the Sunday we had the Roast Beef which was lovely and their toffee pudding is to die for second time I have had it and it is the best I have ever had!More

We went to the Bakers for our special 50 year’s wedding anniversary, over the years friends and villagers have been talking about how good it was, so at last we went for our special meal. Having read some of the reviews about the amount of...the meals, all I can say if you want to eat a lot go to the pub in the next village, But if you want quality visit here, absolutely brilliant yes a little bit expensive but the result fantastic I had the fillet steak, wow just how it’s supposed to be cooked and served. It’s taken me a long time to find a dish as tasty as this. All the staff happy and helpful.More

I came to this establishment tonight with my partner and family on the recommendation that it was really good..... Well how disappointed was I. Had duck starter, pork and a pudding (only to fill me up). Duck portion was small, pork was very fattie and...not enough veg or potatoes so had to ask for more (which was brought 5 minutes later).. As for my partner and family and daughter who had the lamb (which I was told were the last 2 portions) and it showed and the fillet steak which was under cooked as there was blood on the plate as it should of been medium rare.... Can't understand showing Michelin signs on way in with what I seen tonight... Have eaten in a few villages around this area over the past few years and find the neville Arms in medbourne the best value for money and atmosphere...More

Just back home from a family meal here which was quiet a let down! Its been a while since I was last here but always had a good reputation and food and service were excellent. However tonight was not what I expected. The host was...very abrupt, we didn't really feel welcomed and were sat on a draughty table by the door. Food very mediocre, starters were ok but main dishes for the 4 of us were very poor. 2 of us had lamb which apparently was the last of the lamb for the night and it showed! The pork belly was very fatty and a fillet steak had blood all over the plate. We had to ask for extra veg for 4 of us and the dauphinous potatoes were burnt. Very, very poor considering the prices they charge, we ended up having a dessert as we were still hungry. But has put me off going back here, I live in this area and would prefer the Nevill Arms in Medbourne any day ...More

Very disappointed tonight on our visit here. No hand sanitiser on arrival, tables were not social distanced enough compared with our restaurants we have eaten in post lockdown. No members of staff were wearing visors or face masks. Drinks and food orders taken at the...table which was good. Starters all fine although the salmon portions were tiny! Main courses equally small with a tiny bowl of vegetables and potatoes to be shared between four of us! Plus we had to ask for the veg as it didn’t arrive with the mains. One member of our party had pork belly which was completely fatty with hardly any pork, when we complained we got an apology from the waitress but we did have to ask for this meal to be deducted from our bill. No apology from management which was at again poor. We didn’t have deserts but the coffee was fine. Overall very disappointing as in previous visits we have always had great food and service.More

We have known The Bakers Arms for many years and always make it our destination of choice for special occasions. We live 40mins drive away and so can't get to visit as often as we would like. But after a few years between visits we...were not disappointed. Kate and Tim have got it spot on. The evening was very relaxed and it was lovely to have a beacon of normality, no masks, screens or silly paraphernalia to address social distancing, just good old fashioned sensible precautions. The food was top quality. We had Scallops, Harissa Lamb and dressed crab for starters, all delicious. Then for main we had Hake, fillet steak and pork belly (with a huge piece of crackling. All served with dauphinois potatoes and steamed veg, and absolutely delicious. Unfortunately we were too full to order a pudding so next time! Well done Kate and Tim for making it a special night.More

My husband and I went last night (their first Saturday night since lockdown ended). Kate and Tim have definitely got it right. You are seen to your table (well distanced) and drinks and food order taken at table. Some tables placed their order and sat...in that garden until food was ready. Hand sanitizer available limited to around 40 people but yet there was still the lovely Bakers Arms atmosphere. Now we get on to the good bit. The food. We both had scallops with black pudding then my husband had his usual fillet steak. I had Sea Bass on a pea and mint risotto which was so light and delicious (would definitely recommend). Everything was to their normal great standard. Have booked to take the family in 2 weeks time. Well done Kate and Tim and all your great staff.More

Think this is a statement and some sort of criticism. This spot is for questions. Seems like most parents think their offspring are Angels which is why there is this rule. That dear super parent is why the Bakers is so... More

They can cater for vegetarian and food allergies but we have not had the occasion to ask that question. They are very accommodating so please ask them.
