We came with family mine was ok but the kids meals were great. My son got a chicken breast with green beans and mashed potatoes for 6.95. I ordered a blackened chicken pasta. The sauce was super light but the chicken was rubbery. My husband...More

Consistently exceeds the norm and always meets expectations. Love the thick thick gumbo. Choose your salad and it will be very good. And they are very liberal with the bread. Best lunch in downtown.

The service is fast and inviting, and the entertainment is exceptional. This place makes for the perfect date night, with delicious food, a full variety of drinks, and great bands with no cover charge.

Downtown, bright, fun atmosphere though can be a little loud when live music is going because place is pretty small for live music. Their menu changes frequently to keep it fresh and the chef is quite creative. Prices are more than reasonable for the fare...More

Always a great choice to grab a glass of wine and listen to seasoned jazz locals, amazing guest artists and formidable jazz students perform.

Food and service was very good. Really nice laid back atmosphere. BBQ rib tips and gator balls were excellent.

Stopped in for an early dinner before the live music had started up, which was a bummer because I can imagine that place could get real funky! Food was delicious and not to pricey. Side note: The sinks in the bathrooms were crazy, you'll have...More

The Union is a great restaurant with super good food. Their specials allow you to try things that you may not normally order. I love their Friday Happy Hour where EVERYTHING on the menu is half off. Great salmon, soups, tempura shrimp and their macaroni...More

There is something not right about The Union. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing horrible about it either- its just...there. When there is a band, there is not a great deal of attention paid to the sound board in that room. The menu isn't completely...More

We had a great meal there on a week night, but we didn't know that the big band was playing at 7:00. They are certainly good, but the noise level is beyond belief for that size room. My family wanted to talk and it was...More

I am looking for a place to have a small surprise retirement party, 35-45 people. We would like a private room or an area separated from the general diners. Probably a Saturday afternoon around 2:30-3:30 pm, in the next couple of weeks would be great, if available. If your restaurant could accommodate us, we wondered if separate checks would be allowable.

Not sure if the Union has a private room. The Wine Loft in Kalamazoo might, and Zazios has a private section that would probably work well.
