You must take a horse drawn buggy to get to this restaurant but it is worth the trip. Excellent service, delicious food! A night to remember. Be sure to check out the duck bowling alley near the bar!

An enchanting restaurant on an enchanting island. We took a horse drawn taxi to the Woods. This was originally a play house built for a wealthy persons children and even has a antique bowling lane. Expensive but worth the money for that special occasion. My wife loves the place.

We stopped here and had drinks in the bar. The bartend was so nice and the drinks were very well made. They can even make blended drinks like pina colada which there are few places on the island that make blended drinks. It is fancy and you feel like royalty here.

My wife an I are frequent visitors to Mackinac Island, otherwise known as that great turtle island in Lake Huron. We have visited in the summer. We celebrated New Year's Eve last year on the island. And now, we have hiked the island trails amid the beautiful fall colors. We always make sure that one of our dinners while on... More

We were staying at the Harbour View B&B downtown and took a horse and carriage taxi to Woods on the last evening it was open for the season. The ride was approximately 1/2 hour as we made a few stops, including at the Grand Hotel, to pick up other riders. The taxi provided blankets and were able to bring a... More

We enjoyed the whole experience including the 40 minute horse carriage ride in the rain, the lodge decor, the fine service, and the food. We thought the food was good (but not amazing). But it was a great evening and we definitely recommend it and go again.

We heard about The Woods from someone who was dining there the night before. We thought we would try it for lunch. Unfortunately there was no lunch service, but we enjoyed popcorn and beer in the bar before our walk back to town. You can also tray free game of duckpin bowling!

If you don't mind riding 1/2 hour both ways in a carriage on a rainy, dark night, this is for you. We had reservations at 8:30, arrived early and enjoyed drinks in the bar. It's an over sized cabin in the woods with nicely dressed wait staff and reasonably priced dinners. Owned by the Grand Hotel, the service and food... More

We went to Mackinac Island for a day trip and were able to squeeze in an awesome meal at The Woods. They start serving dinner at 5:30pm and we had to be back for the last ferry ride at 8pm. We called a carriage taxi ($7 per person) and were picked up for our ~30min scenic ride to the restaurant.... More

We stayed close to this high end eatery and decided to partake in dinner. There was no disappointment. Everything thing was delicious. A bit pricey but you didn't have to dress Up or wear a tie. I had the white fish and my wife had the baked chicken. We topped it Off with cobbler and was excellent too. You won't... More
