Great tasting food, terrible service! We waited a looong time to order. Got food & it was hot and delicious. Our waitress never came back to check on us. When she finally came over I had to ask for more water, then she never asked...others in our party if they needed more to drink. Bills took awhile to come....just very SLOW service for a Tuesday night when restaurant was not too busy.More

We live in Metamora and love The White Horse Inn. The atmosphere is second to none and we have always had top notch service. My wife would love to go every night for the fresh out of the over chocolate cookies! Soo good. In the...winter the Igloos are so fun! A very special place!More

The building is worth the trip. The wooden floors are unique. The fireplace is welcoming. The bathroom has a sink that you can wash as well as dry your hands. I had the pot roast. I haven't had a dinner that good since my mom's...pot roast. The mashed potatoes were a good addition to the carrots and parsnips. The meat was very tasty and could be cut with a fork. Very good food. We had the homemade ice cream - best I've ever had. The bread pudding was mostly bread with very little pudding. Can't wait to return. There is an option to eat inside or on the patio outside.More

During this Covid-19 pandemic it was great to see that every time diners were leaving the tables and chairs were wiped down. This was my first time dining in a restaurant since March and I felt totally safe! Our server was great and friendly. The...food was excellent, looking forward to returning again.More

A group of 13 of us came here prior to a family event for lunch. The restaurant dates back to the mid 1800s and is really charming. We sat at one end of a very long table. Soups, salads, sandwiches, pot roast. Nice long bar...and a couch/living area in front of the fireplace presumably to wait for a table or enjoy drinks. Loved it! Off the beaten path but worth a visit!More

We made it here for lunch for the first time. Like dinner time, everything was great. Invited two friends (their first visit) to join us. It's an hour drive for us and well worth it. We left full and very happy. Had a chance to...visit the local shops as well. It was a great afternoon. Can't wait to go back.More

Our family of 9 enjoyed the unique experience of having "dinner in an igloo" the day after Christmas 2019. We arrived early so we could browse and learn about the history of the Inn ... very interesting. The Christmas tree adorned with horse competition ribbons...and the roaring fire in the fireplace added to the festive atmosphere. In the igloo our server - Amber - was fantastic; amazing that she memorized our orders! Our son and his family live in the general area; the rest of the family traveled from out-of-state ... the overall experience added to our special family time.More

This is a top notch restaurant! The food was definitely worth the 2 hour drive, the service was ok but not friendly. Which gave us time to eat our wonderful dinner at the bar in peace Sorry, the photo of our dinner seems to be...too large. We had the steak and goulash. Very good! Then the oatmeal pie! Not enough room to say how good that was or the carrot cake we took home. Be prepared to share!More

Our 2 adult kids planned a surprise luncheon for us and rented the outdoor Igloo for 10 people. It was toasty warm in there with the sun out but there are also heaters if needed, and so much easier to hear and visit with everyone...in that space. WE LOVED IT! Our food was served promptly and for the variety of the orders, everything got rave reviews. The Igloos are strictly an outdoor option from November through mid-March and so glad they opted for this. The cost to reserve the Igloo is credited back on your total food bill so it's a win-win! We took some pictures indoors near their spectacular fireplace and the restaurant inside is very inviting and decorated to reflect "horse country" which is what Metamora is known for.More

Have not dined in an igloo but understand they stay warm and toasty even in very cold weather. Not sure if the same can be said for the food when it's delivered outside.

Maybe a poltergeist is tampering with the food. Seems like we have had many complaints.
